I like Baltimore to really dominate the Colts and do a number on Peyton Manning. I like New Orleans over Philly. I think the high-flying Eagles will crash down to a halt. It will be an absolute mad-house party at the Superdome, and I think Philly will walk into a hornets nest. The Saints offense is so explosive and Payton really an dial up the right plays. I think the Saints could beat the Eagles like they did the Cowboys. I also liek the Seahawks over the Bears. The Seahawks have been there before, they have more experience and the Bears are way overrtaed. They have injuries on defense and the defense is not nearly as good as it was earlier, and if they have to put the game in Grossman's hands, he will crumble. The best game of the week is the Patriots at the Chargers. The Chargers are a loaded team, but they have a young QB in the playoffs for the first team and are going up against a great defense and the smartest coach on the planet. New England will be able to force Rivers into a mistake or to, and you know in the playoffs Tom Brady is not going to screw up and he is going to make plays. There is no way I can bet agianst Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in the playoffs. I think defense wil dominate this game and New England will win in a close game with the HOFer Brady making the plays to win it. Go Saints, Go Patriots!!!!!
Chocolate City *Ravens win with their ferocious defense Who dat that say they going to beat them Saints? *Saints in a close one Monsters of the Midway *Bears win despite poor play from Grossman San Diego Super Chargers *LT runs wild and Phillip Rivers plays just good enough
I'd like Baltimore to win, but I think the Colts have this one. The Eagles continue their streak... Chargers win in a close one... Chicago beats Seattle by two touchdowns...
I'm getting good at this prediction stuff so, here goes... Colts over Ravens, 24-20. I know Baltimore is out for revenge, but Indy's getting some of their key personnel back. Peyton Manning will suffer some defensive pressure up front but I don't think he will wilt again like he did last year. Could be a fairly close game. Watch out for the 4th quarter McNair comeback attempt. Saints over Eagles, 28-13. The Eagles have been overachieving, but the Saints are just the better team. A depleted secondary isn't going to help the Eagles slow down Drew Brees, who is throwing the ball as frequently as any QB in this league and still one of the most efficient. Bears over Seahawks, 19-10. Even if Grossman has a bad day, the Bears will win. Sorry Seattle. Chargers over Pats, 27-20. Toughest call of the bunch, and like others have said it's hard to pick against Tom Brady in January. Brady is the best playoff quarterback in the league, but LT is one of the greatest players this league has ever seen. Better team wins.
Who knew that Indy could play smashmouth better than the Ravens? (thus far). Indy is doing what Pittsburgh did last year... except they're doing it defensively (whereas Pittsburgh did it offensively).
I don't know what's more astounding -- that the Ravens have held Manning to a 36.1 passer rating so far or that the Colts have matched their defensive pressure play for play so far.
After watching this game, I am officially changing my Superbowl pick from San Diego to Indianapolis. This will be Peyton Manning's year. For all the criticism that Indy's defense has suffered this season, they have been nothing short of elite in these past two games. This is right now *the* best team in football.
I wouldn't say they're the best... but the fact that they won't face a defense as tough as Baltimore bodes well for them.
As good as their defense has been, their offense has been shaky. It'll be interesting to see how San Diego looks. If I'm the Colts, I don't know whether I'd want to face the Chargers (better team) or Patriots (their nemesis). One thing for sure - Bob Sanders earned himself a huge payraise. That guy might be the most underrated player in football. He's the key to their run defense.
I think their offense will look better against either the Chargers or the Patriots... and I still think they'd want homefield (thus wanting the Pats to win), even though they looked pretty good in a damn hostile environment (and San Diego won't be anywhere close to that).
