OK, great win Eagles! Like I said though, the real hump for the Eagles isn't playing without T.O. it is getting past the NFC Championships game and it is a BIG hump even this time around. GO EAGLES BEAT THE FALCONS!!!
Peyton Manning, once again finding out the hard way, that playing outside in very frigid conditions against a defensive mastermind in Belichick is WORLDS different than playing in the cozyness of his little dome at home against a team that can't match up in terms of personnel. Keep it going Pats, defeat that evil Peyton Manning!
could you imagine if manning had brady's defense and brady had manning's? something tells me brady wouldn't be the undefeated one. and what a shock that new england gets a snowstorm for the game today. plays directly away from indy's strength offense and right to the pats strength defense. but i'm sure we'll hear more blabber about brady being better than manning after this game. dillon seals the game with another long run against the great indy defense.
Brady's not better than Manning, but he's a very good QB. And I don't think you'll get many arguments who is better in big games.
it was quite funny to see the Indy offensive line snap the ball and then just stand there waiting for someone to guard.
Peyton Manning did not play like a MVP this game but he did play well enough to get the win. However, the Colts Defense didn't hold up their end of the bargain. Corey Dillon is the player of the game.
I was thinking the same thing but you couldn't have written it any better. That team is in his head. You can make all the excuses you want but Peyton just doesn't make the same throws against New England. He clearly tightens. I also think that N.E. has found a way to bait Manning into bad throws. Manning is the type of QB who reads the D before the play begins and already knows where he is going, that's why he never gets sacked. N.E. somehow makes Peyton see something that isn't there.
Manning never set his feet all day, even when he had the time. Maybe the cold makes him jittery. The NE Linebackers played great, but Peyton is as much at fault for this loss as the NE LBs are for the win.
Blaming this loss on Manning is L-A-Z-Y. You can't win if you don't have the ball for most of the second half. His receivers dropped too many passes and simply didn't make plays. That is on *them.* Manning's passes were no less on-target than Tom Brady's, certainly. Don't pin this loss on Manning. Where was Edgerin James? What kind of offensive game plan was that in the first half? They waited too long to get it cranked up and only came away with three points. Then the Pats just took over and suffocated them in the 3rd and 4th quarter. If you want to blame somebody on the Colts, blame their GM who designed a team that is not built to win road playoff games. Their defense is a stat defense- when the opposing teams are down 21-3 after ten minutes they can just pin their ears back and go after the quarterback with impunity. They seem much better than they are. Against good teams they are exposed. They have some great talent on the D-line (Freeney is God-like), but they simply don't have the across-the-board talent. Too many resources are tied up with their offense. I think you have to simply congratulate one of the best coached teams of all time. The Patriots would have beaten any team in the league today.
Um, ok. I saw Peyton Manning over, under, behind, beside, and just plain dog his passes all game long.
I'm gonna tell you why I'm gonna be lazy and blame this loss on Peyton. The NFL's rules commission has penalized defensive backs for things they used to get away with because poor wittle Peyton could not complete his pass last year against the Pats. As a result, we have seen off-the-chart passing numbers this year because of the enforcement of what shall now be renamed the "The Peyton Rule". And after a year of taking advantage of a circumstance created by last year's game and approaching a record that would have never been approached under usual conditions, Peyton still didn't perform in the big game.
