My "hatred" for Bush stems from his proponents feeling the need to bash the Texans everytime he's mentioned. I'd love Bush if he was a Texan. They very well could have made a mistake. However, the Texans are my team, Mario's on my team, and to hear people who claim to be fans (not to mention everyone in the national media and other teams' fans) whine about Mario every chance they get and proclaim they're happy or excited to see no-shows at the games gets on my last nerve. Either go root for the Saints exclusively or get over the fact that Bush isn't nor never will be a Texan.
I think the idea of a conspiracy here is sheer lunacy and the only smoke that exists is being generated by those who promote the notion of a conspiracy.
Exactly. There's no disputing the Texans putrid beginningt in the NFL, but with a man at the helm that helped Shanahan turn Denver into one of the most profific offenses in the NFL for close to a decade until recently, you got to believe Kuby can gitter done.
let me guess. you don't think we really landed on the moon and that George Bush is responsible for the collapsing of the WTC.
its not a conspiracy....the Texans just blew it ..face it they thought DD woulkd be back,,,and at the very least that Lundy would somehow magically be a 1,000 cuz of Kube they thought that Carr has "IT" and its still early to tell ...(im still not sure about him , he has some good qualitys but stares down his receiver way to long) they knew they had the WORSE defense pass rush and thought that Mario was the second coming of Bruce Smith...so this kinda makes sense why they did it, but they just simply "overthought " to much.... Whats more sad than not taking Bush is the fact that mario isnt even more valuable than ryans....and there are a couple other rookie D linemen who appear to be faster, more hungry , than Mario
The saints sold out season tickets for the first time ever. That says something. I am ****in sick of helping these guys. First we give them shelter, then we give them bush, whats next? I think it is a very possible conspiracy. Come on, the texans passed up reggie bush for a weak running game that had an injury prone Davis? And this was done just to beat the colts? I support the mario pick, but i do think it lacks logic and it makes me feel better. I think thats why we all support it.
That's good to know. Whew... it's not like the guy is Chris Simms anyway. I mean that guy, that guy... wow. You are so silly dude.
What's your obsession with me anyway? I happen to like a player that's had two awful games? I'm sure there are thousands of other posters on this board who have personal favorites that have had off games from time to time, why don't you call them out for a change? Instead, this is about the 50th thread that has nothing to do with Chris Simms that you just randomly throw in some personal insult that has nothing to do with the discussion. And honestly, if you really want to discuss Chris Simms, his legacy in the NFL at this point is someone who came in and led his team to a division championship. He's sucked this season, but it's 2 games. Not even half a season, or even a fourth of a season. If you'd like to continue this discussion, send me an email... otherwise, for sadly the first time, I'm going to use the ignore list and be done with it. Let me know when you actually want to talk sports instead of exchange personal insults.
While it does enhance the NFL's image looking charitable helping an ailing city, itd be more worth their putting those funds to get a team in L.A., the dream they still seem so interested in. Now if they enabled Bush to head to New Orleans then moved the team to L.A., in Bush's homestate, THEN you got something that warrants more suspicion. Even then its highly unlike conspiracies would play into it. If the NFL blatantly uses underhanded methods to get what they want, Houston probably wouldnt have a football team.
Personal insults? I'm not the one that called you a dumbass. What in the world... After two games you're not going to "give up" on the best player in college football last year, the #2 pick in the draft, the consensus best college player in quite a long time. Good for you man. If you always want to play the contrarian in these discussions, you should have a little thicker skin dude. Personal insult? My gosh.
I'll respond one more time. The post directed at you wasn't about Reggie Bush. This is about your apparent obsession the last few months of taking a little shot at me about Chris Simms or a number of other favorites of mine in threads that have absolutely, positively nothing to do with them. I've made a lot of mistakes in my analysis. And if you want, feel free to start threads detailing all of them. Call me out. I don't care. But I'm certainly not the only one on the BBS to have made false predictions, and it seems a little bizarre and obsessive the way you stalk me from thread to thread and constantly rub in my face things that have nothing to do with the topic at all. If you want to discuss Simms, great, just make a thread in the hangout and let's talk. But let's put an end to the random insults. And don't play this holier-than-thou card with Reggie Bush. First of all, this is professional football... not college. There's not all that much relevance. If you think there is, go back and look at the history of Heisman winners (the consensus best college players) and look at their success rate in the NFL. This is a completely different league, completely different circumstances. However, I do agree with you that there's a reason Bush was talented enough to go No. 2 overall, and clearly no one's going to talk about giving up on him. But you know what? Mario Williams had enough talent to go No. 1 overall, and people were willing to give up on him before letting him play a single regular season down. So, I'll be a lot more willing to be considerate and objective when the Texan-bashers give Williams the same courtesy. It goes both ways. Also, I said I was cheering for the Falcons to win and that Reggie hadn't done that much yet in the league. If you could, I'd like to know how that makes me the contrarian on this issue, considering a majority of posters on the board likely feel the same way.
I don't want to argue with you man. I've brought it up perhaps 3 times in relation to some of your predictions. That hardly qualifies for obsession considering you have like 10,000 posts but I won't bring it up again. In my opinion you enjoy being a contrarian and I've seen you make several comments, much like about Reggie Bush, that are just out of left field. You say there's not much relevance between college football and pro football and I say have you heard there's a college draft? People make their selections based on what they see players do in college football. Not much relevance? Whatever. Heisman trophies aren't given out to the most talented, highest potential player who'll join the NFL. Winners are selected based on team performance, statistics, and hype. You're trashing Bush because Texans fans haven't seen much from Mario Williams and are starting to question whether he was the right pick for this team. Not liking Mario as the pick doesn't equate to people wanting to see him do poorly or people being Bush fans. This is where your comments about 5 carries and 6 yards, doesn't look like a hall of famer to me is just weak. Bush isn't even the starting back in NO. If Reggie Bush were on the Eagles with their style of offense, I'm sure his statistics would look a lot different. Now on what team would Mario's stats look a lot different? On what team would Mario beat single coverage to be the dominant pass rusher we've heard he'll become? Nobody's given up on Mario Williams. We just see the talent with Bush, even in the pre-season he had that extraordinary run against the Titans. We see the speed, the quickness, the good hands, etc. When or where have you seen similar things from Mario? Where is the one play where he torched the OT and nailed the QB? Just one play where he showed his potential as a dominant pass rusher. Can you name one? Doubtful. That's why the questions are coming forward. Hopefully we'll see that one play soon from Mario because we're all tired of losing.
That's some incredible spin if I've ever seen it. "Starting to question?" HAH! I wouldn't mind that at all. It's much more than starting to question. In many cases, it's having completely determined that Mario Williams is a complete bust and Reggie Bush is possibly the greatest running back to ever play the game with all the evidence of two games in. I'm fine with questions. What I'm not fine with is determining how the two players' entire careers will play out based on this absurdly small sample size of evidence (and evidence that hasn't even been particularly amazing in either case). I'm trashing Bush because of the people trashing Mario and the Texans. It's ok to have questions and doubts. It's not ok to declare the guy's career over after two games. That's common sense.
