Kolb was a mistake, the money they gave him was a mistake, both, or neither?

Doucet may turn out to be that guy. He has been big for the Cards on third downs this year. I think as he starts to get more targets and receptions, teams will open up the defense to be a bit more honest(at least as they were with Breaston).

New starting QB, no training camp on a historically bad franchise? I figured Kolb would get off to a slow start but not this bad. I think a training camp would help that offense - they all need to be on the same page because outside of Larry they got a bunch of meh.

He's right but it's never a good idea to throw your teammates under the bus. Even if they're as bad as his are.

Kind of surprised to see this come out of Fitz. I've followed him closely ever since his college days. This is definitely NOT something you would expect from him.

Things are going to get uglier in AZ.

Out of the 5 teams they've faced, 3 of them have good pass defenses (Washington, New York, Minnesota).

5 of their next 8 games come against teams that have good pass defenses as well. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, SF x2, Dallas.

This is not going to be a good year for the Cardinals.

It's okay Early Doucet, don't listen to Larry. You're still legit in my eyes to have a starting spot during bye weeks.

NFL UPDATE - Arizona Cardinals have reportedly shown strong interest in WR Terrell Owens.

He probably shouldn't have signed that monster contract if he really wanted a legit #2.

TO to the cards would be interesting -- he's certainly a legit #2 if healthy. Maybe TO's return is what sparked these comments from Larry.

I don't know where they stand this year, but as of last year, the Cardinals had one of the lowest payrolls in the league - I don't think his contract affected their ability to sign a #2 WR. I think a bigger reason is probably that they weren't planning to be very good, so spending big on a WR was probably not a big priority.

He wants to play with a quarterback that throws to the right team.

Then he would rather play with Cutler than Kolb

IIRC didn't Fitzgerald get the biggest WR contract in the NFL? I'm sure he makes more than even some team's entire receiving corpos. Since the NFL operates with a hard cap, how does he expect the team to pay for more quality receivers when he's making that much?

If you want to get paid like 2-3 receivers combined, you shouldn't be complaining when you need to do the job of 2-3 receivers combined.

Arizona had one of the lowest payrolls in the league last year. They are nowhere near the cap.

    Kolb is a joke!!!

That guy didn't do anything in the league and he gets paid like he has..

That guy is trash!!! Will not be starting 2 years from now.

You are right. I checked and they seem to be about 10 mil under. But that still doesn't change the fact that Fitzgerald is getting paid insane money. His cap hit is about equal to the cap hit of the entire NE and GB receiving corp COMBINED.

Like I said, you want to get paid, at least earn that money by showing how much better you are than everyone else.

Playing with Jay Cutler worked out for Brandon Marshall.

    Fitz doesn't need a #2, he needs a QB.
