Micheal A Smith is reporting that Marty Schottenheimer is going to be the next President of Kansas City Chiefs and he's bring in .......get this......are you ready.......buckle up now, Jimmy Raye JR as the GM and Cam Cameron as the HC (splash) I hope this isn't true.
I'm so stunned that the Broncos fired Shanahan....no words. He certainly won't be unemployed for long. Not as surprised Ralph Wilson didn't fire Jauron - too cheap to eat the money on that supremely ill-fated extension they gave him a couple months back. Could care less about Favre - he proved himself to be such a jackass this summer that I can't wish anything but ill on him. No surprise that he had a problem being held accountable for his semi-reckless throwing habits. #21 in passer rating (Aaron Rodgers #6, Chad Pennington #2) and next year, the Jets may be reduced to Kellen Clemens as their starting QB under a new coach. Sweet timing as the Texans play their division. Evan
I was surprised too at the Shanahan firing. I also believe he will not be in the unemployment line too long. Any other coaches expected to go?
I also can't help but wonder if Andy Reid had lost against Dallas, would he be one of the names mentioned this past Monday?
If this is true, and I'm pretty sure it is, then Mangini deserved to be fired. Not because he dared to cross NFL's greatest treasure , but because he's been living under a rock apparently. That's all Favre was and will ever be --a gunslinger. Even last year with the Packers he was throwing stuff up and expecting his receivers to turn it into something good. The good part is that his receivers were great and the Jets receiving corp is not close to the talent level. Mangini should have known what he was getting with Favre. Calling the guy out (especially when Favre was brought in because he's Brett Favre) like a rookie is kind of a no-no.
I don't believe this at all. No way Cam "1-15" Cameron will be the head coach. That would be beyond insane.
That's what I want to know as well. Oh, and booo hooo, he called out the prima dona for being a bad quarterback. He should get a raise for that, not fired.
Chiefs front runners for the Pioli Race? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/01/04/banks.wild.card.snap.judgments/1.html According to SI.com’s Don Banks, the Chiefs are indeed looking like the most likely destination for coveted GM prospect Scott Pioli. From SI.com Reading the latest tea leaves, that puts Pioli in the Chiefs’ wheelhouse. League sources tell me Pioli seems excited about the opportunity in Kansas City, which he’s believed to be interviewing for Monday. Pioli still has to do his due diligence and thoroughly research the Cheifs’ roster, but he’s said to be high on some of the building blocks that Kansas City has in place (like offensive left tackle Branden Albert, and cornerbacks Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr).
2006: 6-10 2007: 8-8 2008: 10-6 (division winner) I think he's an average coach, but most teams wouldn't fire a coach after a campaign like that.
Wow. I didn't see that coming. That pretty much makes the Bucs a total rebuild situation, right? Coach, D-Coordinator, QB, aging defense... Weird to wait so late, huh?
Maybe they see a realistic shot at getting a big name candidate that's available (Cowher, Shanahan?). Who knows...
