I picked Manning too. Even this year. I use to think he was a choker but he has earned my respect. His decision making is precise. He definately seems in command when he comes to the line and knows what he wants to do. Brees is having an Awesome year. He throws a awesome deep ball. Rocket River
i agree that manning is the best quarterback in nfl history. however, i think brees deserves to win the mvp this year. his performance vs. the patriots was sick-> big game-> stood tall. he broke their will with how quickly and accurately he was unloading the ball. he's on quite a roll.
That just happened to be more recent though. Manning beat the Dolphins while only having the ball for 14 seconds total all game! The head coach leaves, the franchise's storied WR is let go, the 2nd WR goes out with injury on the first play of the year, all that and no decline. Seamless transition.
Manning is the greatest QB of this generation and belongs in the convo with Montana, Elway, Marino, Favre etc as the best ever. He still has his Wayne and Clark, but he makes guys like Garcon and Collie better too. Top notch.
The ever lasting question of who makes who better. I think Peyton makes all those players better then they actually are. Good players look great. Average players look good. JaMarcus Russell makes all WR non-existent, and makes DBs look like HOFs. Colston is a WR, and a very good one at that. Shockey is their TE.
I just don't think there has ever been a smarter QB when it comes to managing the game than Peyton Manning. You ask defenses who play against him and they just shake their heads because he knows exactly what they are doing before the snap.
