This is pretty much the samething every year..."Were stacked and the only thing that can stop is injuries". Well injuries have definately hit us each of the past few years and we'd be fools not to expect the same next year. I would LOVE for us to stay healthy but I think the Rockets have the "Curse of 1", as in each stage of the season we lose 1 star. Last year and this year we made it to the playoffs and were down 1 star. This year we advanced to the second round and guess what...we lose another star! Hopefully when we get past the Lakers the curse will be broken and not lose Artest (or Brooks for that matter)
You guys dont get it. If we win game 5 tomrrow, there are going to be HUGE shake ups to this roster. for one, it'll prove we are better against the Lakers without yao. so if yao is healthy and playing we're still going to lose to the lakers next year. but if we win game 5 (which we will) we will win the series, and more than likely yao will be a role player with limited minutes.
Yeah every year its 'if healthy' with the rockets so I don't see that happening with the players we have on our team we are just too injury prone
Hope the team can develop guys like Dorsey and White. These players could be a factor next year. But first, they should shop for a back up center.
You're right next year will be awesome, but for a different reason: T-mac's contract will be about to expire and we can use that for a serious trade.
You have to keep in mind that despite all the early season problems we had, the Rockets made it to 53 wins. Without the drama I could definitely see several games bounce our way. Yao's got to stop playing so much. I think he'd be better off conditioning certain parts of his body like his torso, balance, and endurance than to keep playing ball so much. Also, I'm not sure if this is the case but before he even came into the league, I had my reservations about how his body would hold up. Basically, the Chinese diet isn't rich in calcium based foods, which tends to make your bones weaker and more brittle. Especially if you're running and pounding away 300+ lbs onto those feet. The problem is easy to correct but it takes more than a few glasses of milk to strengthen those bones. /You can call me Dr. House. //No, it's not Lupus.
