LaFleur went to the Rams. Kubiak kids, I don’t know, we’ll see. Slowik (and his dad) was a defensive guy prior to last few years. I said he’s the most popular choice… and he’s the overwhelming fan favorite choice. And yet there will still be a hint of dysfunction as he clearly wasn’t the current GM’s choice (hence why they’ll probably move on and get another one eventually). And the fans controlling Cal would be an upgrade based on previous decision making process’ down there! Again, I’m all for Demeco.
Doesn’t take much. The lack of a competent team here for some time has brought the general knee-jerk factor up by 10. And Demeco has the most job security in the hx of sports for the next 2-3 years… he can blow every replay decision, every clock management decision, be a dick to the press…. It’s quite the dream job, TBH, from that standpoint.
We can have our coach now? Welcome home Demeco now tell Nick and Cal you demand them to bring in Daron Payne.
People calling for Demeco just because he played for Houston and his coaching claim is he continued Saleh's defense, is a severe disappointment in the general knowledge of the fan base for me.
Meh nice try but X’s and O’s Is just one component to being a good head coach. Leadership, ability to navigate turmoil in the locker room, attracting high quality free agents, etc.
Steichen has turned Jalen Hurts into an MVP candidate. That’s the guy I want. Demeco is a rah-rah type of guy who has ridden some all world talent on defense (Bosa, Warner, Ward). I don’t see him as a scheme guy. The Eagles ran all over him.
Nice try. What is the first thing you hear about EVERY single head coach/candidate? "They have great leadership skills. They are leaders of men!" You're telling me Gannon, Kafka, and Steichen can't attract high quality free agents?
I see him as a Mike Vrabel. May not have tons of experience but he can lead the team. He will grow into the role, and he'll have time to do it. The fact that he was one of the best Texans defenders ever doesn't hurt either.
I saw an article somewhere yesterday or today, don't ask me where, that Lance could be had for a 3rd rounder. Now if Demeco could pull that off I'd be happy with that.
Life moves fast. Him, Byron Leftwich, (probably others)… From rising potential future head coaches to fired. (Although looks like Moore will still have opportunities as OC. Already being linked to the Bucs.)
