    If all the rumors are to be believed, it's sounding like this is going to come down to Gannon or Ryans* who are both defensive guys.

    With a new QB coming in hopefully, neither one of these guys excites me, but I've been wrong before. I guess we'll just have to hope for a great OC now.

    For those who want Payton here, I understand the success he brings to the table.....but is he worth giving up 2 1st round picks and paying him 4 years for $100 million??

    Could be if it's one of those Philly dudes and an Alabama qb is available that they will feel comfortable with said Alabama qb coming here.

    As a Demeco fan, I'm bracing myself that he will want a qb that's already familiar with that beautiful offensive system. He will probably want defense with those picks and bring in Jimmy G, trade for Lance? Jordan Love?

    Minor detail but Kubiak needs to be in there and also the step between Dad Shanahan and Son Shanahan.

    Also would add Kevin O'Connell on the McVay branch.

    Baby Shan, Salah, Matt LaFleur, McDaniel, and Vance Joseph all coached on his staff while in Houston.

    I get the concern about the picks, but who cares about the salary? NFL teams print cash. It doesn't count against the salary cap or affect their ability to do anything else. Cal should care about the salary, but why would fans?
