A job with a team lacking talent, with no draft picks to obtain them, is not a dream job. No job where you aren't picking until round 3 is going to be considered a dream job. One where you may have multiple early picks for multiple years....maybe.
I believe they are going to interview guys until before 1-17, when they interview Payton. Then do background checks for a week to 10 days.
Don't forget Deshaun Watson was picked #12. He was a franchise QB until he didn't want to be anymore for Texans.
I would love to have SP, but this franchise will never get a coach like that, it's not in the cards, we will end up with one of these OC/DC who have no head coaching experience. I`m not getting my hopes up....but hey, well get new unis in a year so that's something to root for.
Cal and Hanna Snow Job currently in progress on 610. Just said the the Texans HC job is attractive because it can't be one and done for a 3rd time. Sheesh!
The "dream job" is being one of 32 NFL head coaches in the world. It's not an opportunity that comes along all the time. You're arguing that coaches would turn down their dream job because of 1 year of messiness. Everything that you said makes this job supposedly appealing now we knew was going to be there 1-2 years ago. Anyone who has better options than the Texans will take it. But that left a ton of people still available in both 2021 and 2022.
Why can only Gannon put together a good staff? Do you really want a coaching staff where the coach only brings in people they know? This is like the Texans only being willing to hire Patriots people.
Wow! 610 is really blowing smoke up fans behinds today after the Cal & Hanna Show. I LMAO when Hanna had to keep jumping in to bail out clueless Cal. They gave the standard "We're not racist" disclaimer and so on. It was the wrong way to deal with that issue but that's on them and Nick for creating this situation with their actions over the past two years. It's all for show as many have posted here. After all, gotta get those season ticket holders to renew, right?
It's a fact that they have the most diverse staff throughout the entire organization in the league. National media doesn't care to dig that deep and neither do you.
