I’m actually very intrigued with Arthur Smith.... his story, what he’s been able to do with Ryan Tannehill is very impressive. Leftwich- I’m kinda meh on him. I feel like that offense could be much more dynamic with all the weapons they have. The TB defense is the main reason why they’re a solid team
Agreed on Leftwich. That team has way too many weapons to be a middle of the run offense like they’ve been. I’m on board the Saleh train. The fact that the 49ers are still fielding a top 10 defense is remarkable. With DW4, don’t think you need an offensive minded HC to make it work. Honestly think just replacing Devlin would greatly improve the offense. The defense is a much bigger issue IMO.
Yep, this is why I didn’t want him. His system is too easy to figure out. Same thing happened with Kap
The Peregrine Falcon is renown for its speed reaching over 200mph. The Atlanta Falcon is renown for choking like Jim Belushi at an all you can eat bone-in chicken buffet.
I don’t want to here Jim Harbaugh’s name with the Texans again. His Michigan teams are unprepared and undercoached.
Perfect! As soon as we hire a GM, we can offer ATL David Johnson for their FRP and we're back in action,
Rapoport is saying Romeo is being discussed as the head coach for next year. Would be very McNair of them.
https://www.nfl.com/news/houston-texans-could-install-romeo-crennel-as-full-time-head-coach-for-2021 The Houston Texans may turn to a familiar face to fill their most high-profile opening. While they are still more than a month away from conducting the search to fill their head-coach opening, sources say that one strong possibility is to turn to Romeo Crennel as their full-time coach. It's currently being debated inside the organization. Crennel -- now the interim coach -- is a well-respected, affable, long-time defensive coordinator who has been a head coach in the past. For the Texans, he could serve as a stop-gap coach, allowing the team to get to 2021 with some stability and pushing their true coaching search to the following offseason when COVID-19 restrictions would allow for a traditional in-person search. No one knows what the country will be like in January, but flying around the country and interviewing several candidates may be challenging, even on private planes. It's possible that coaching candidates will be interviewed on Zoom. That means a team could invest $30 million or $40 million in a head coach they've never met. For Houston, coming off a tumultuous but successful tenure under Bill O'Brien, having Crennel hold it down for a year is an intriguing option for how to move forward. He's also someone the players like and respect. Crennel, 73, was head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 2005-2008 and had the same role with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. He's been in Houston since 2014 in various leadership roles. Under that scenario, VP of Football Operations Jack Easterby would continue to run football through the transition and may continue in that role if the team doesn't hire a GM. At least, that puts Easterby at the helm for several years until things settle.
I honestly believe Cal Mcnair is the easiest man in the history of humanity to impress. Crennel probably took him out to a great dinner and that's Cal needed. It's pathetic.
The entire front office to the entire coaching staff should be a clean sweep. Not a single remnant of the former regime. Texans fans should demand nothing less. And this sweep should happen as soon as this season ends and I don't care even if this team goes 8-0 the rest of the way.
