    Said this on twitter...

It's wild to me how KC fans and talk radio are rallying behind Eric Bieniemy getting a HC job. Normally fans don't want their team's OC or DC to get poached. Pretty cool.

Guessing they’d want to bring their guy in, signed, and announced all at the same time if possible.

Next few days should be telling, if we start hearing that they’re only bringing Leslie back for a 2nd interview with no mention of EB, that’ll be close to a done deal IMO. If both are announced, think they are truly torn or trying to buy time for EB.

“Hire Bieniemy so we can promote Mike Kafka and not miss a beat!” ;)

That's bad news. Once Frazier gets into that room, starts spewing about faith and God, Cal will be entranced and offer him a job on the spot.

Could also be seen as a negative. If he’s really that good, I wouldn’t want to lose him.

The irony isn't lost on me that the same people who are convinced that chasing the "Patriots Way" is stupid because it's really all about the players are now convinced that chasing the "Chiefs Way" is the right approach for the Texans.

There is the major "EB or BUST!" movement from fans that makes zero sense.

So after all this... Josh McDaniels is still in play?

Posted earlier that the prudent thing to do is wait an do in-person interviews now that all of the other vacancies have been filled. Bringing Culley back in indicates to me that they have not settled on Frazier just yet. It is possible they are bringing him in as an OC candidate but doesn't make sense given that they have denied interview requests for Tim Kelly. But guess it's possible they are doing backup OC interviews in case.

And why would any of us think differently? The Texans have not given us a reason to think anything other than it ends badly.

Someone needs to make sure Frazier leaves the building without an agreement.

Both the Kubiak and the Bill OBrien hire were widely applauded by fans. Both were IT candidates.

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...ns-coaching-search-Eric-Bieniemy-15896636.php

    McClain
-Think we agree the finalists are Frazier, Bieniemy, Caldwell

    Wilson
-Caldwell should be given serious consideration, serious weight
-You start thinking about staffing, you start thinking about Tim Kelly as OC/play-caller
-Jim is the only 2nd interview; was told to weigh that very heavily
-As of the time of this podcast, no 2nd interviews set up with any other candidates; that can change in a New York second
-Frazier/Bills didn’t end the season well but Mahomes does that to a lot of people
-Bieniemy was impressive and so were the Chiefs; have to weigh his candidacy
-EB brings a lot of energy, good ideas
-Caldwell brings experience, very good with QBs, steady person; know Jim from Flacco/Ravens Super Bowl run; Jim has good feel for QBs
-All would be first permanent black coach; relatable to the locker room
-Texans intentional about making sure that diversity is a priority
    -Very qualified coaches
-Would be shocked if they went outside the candidates they have now
-If it doesn’t happen this week, fairly obvious what’s happening and have changed gears and could go with Eric
-Imagine sometime this week, Caldwell or Frazier
-Caldwell felt very good about 2nd interview; told friends it was the best interview he’s ever had; he came away with a good feeling
-Dungy has spoken highly of Caldwell; many in NFL have respect for Jim

    McClain
-Dungy also recommended Frazier; I think they’ll hire Frazier; did a great job with Buffalo defense; has personality they’re looking for, as does Caldwell
-Spoke with 2 people been with the Bucs a long time, said he reminded them of Dungy; people in Minnesota hopes he gets a 2nd chance; Buffalo thinks highly of him too
    -Personality like Kubiak
-I’d like to see them if they hire Frazier, hire Caldwell as assistant HC, keep Romeo Crennel on staff

    Wilson
-McCown was surprising but knew he has a strong relationship with Easterby; has HC aspirations; turned down Eagles OC job before; everyone views him as having a bright future in coaching; has coached HS football; kinda acted as a player-coach; team should take the brunt of it, not him; puts him in the cycle for the future; expect for him to play for the Texans in reserve capacity; do not expect him to get the job; maybe he’s part of it down the road in some sort of succession; he’ll be a guy on the rise very fast
-Josh would handle it fine but doesn’t have that background
-Interview was in person; went fine; backlash was tough on social media but can’t fault Josh; highly regarded by the organization; good relationships in the building; good relationship with Watson
-Won’t be getting the job but he’ll have a job in the future; wouldn’t bet against McCown

    McClain
-Can’t believe Easterby convinced Caserio to interview McCown officially
-Should hire McCown as assistant QB coach or QB coach and let him work his way up
-Everyone thinks he’s HC material; felt bad for him

    Wilson
-Has background with Jack but Nick won’t interview anybody he doesn’t want to have interviewed
-Nick is very quiet; does not volunteer information; candidates came away feeling good because he won’t show his hand; had people tell me he’s a good poker player
-With Caldwell & Josh, heard it’s either get the job or nothing; not get this other title if it doesn’t work out; Josh, if he doesn’t get the coaching position, then he won’t be moving to a coaching position right now; same with Caldwell; don’t foresee like Frazier as HC and Caldwell as assistant HC; stranger things have happened

You right. You right. I think I let my frustrations with the management negatively skew all my perceptions of anything Texans related!
