Tmac's shots are usually closed guarded, while SF3's outside jumpers are like JJ's, and Cat's, lots of them are wide open shots.

My whole point of this thread is that our guards don't try to create good scoring opportunities for Yao.

I remember vividly Yao mentioned a situation in a home loss to Sun this season. In the 4th quarter, Yao scored on a putback after an offensive rebound off a Cat airball. On the next possession, Cat told Yao to get ready because the ball would be there.

WTF is that kind of thinnking, or mentality? Remeber that Yao was 29-19-6 in that game and 13-19 from the field. And yet he could not get the ball more?

Yao is not hard to see. He's a 7'6 basketball freak of nature. Its just that steve and cat completely ignore him in pnr situations. He has a nice touch from 10 - 15 feet, use it. TD uses it to his advantage. And like tim, yao has a good post up game too. It just sucks that lour backcourt is continuing to ignore himmost of the time. Look, if the rockets want to join the elite in the west, they must clean house and it all starts in the backcourt.

I dont think I would be way off in saying SF is probably the pg with the most broken PnR turning into a 1 on1 iso in this league. Even Cat has more success in PnR with the same center.

You bet Yao's poor shooting, or should I say no shooting in many games, from the high post has a lot to do in not getting the ball back in PnR.

Yao could become a dominating force ONLY if BOTH his inside and outside games are fully utilized. [/QUOTE

Even the most YOFs here seldom claim Yao will dominate just by shooting from the outside. Except Shaq, Cato and few others, most centers, even Big Z, in the league shoot more from the high post than Yao does. The roll in the PnR for Yao is more like roll or pop. Yao is just too slow to roll to the basket efficiently in every single PnR. In addition to SF's poor passing ability, it would only create more TOs or even offensive fouls if Yao tries to force the issue. Its only natural for one to become more HESITANT to react, if one doesnt usually get the ball back. I'll bet on my house there are many more announcers and sport writers, including Bill Walton, in yelling at SF not able to pass more to Yao than Yao not rolling to the basket in a PnR.

Gosh, Rvpals, maybe I don't know much about roundball; I guess Kareem Abdul Jabbar must not know much about basketball neither:
