1. Kvin Ollie - Gifted leader great coach, loves to make his players better and good X's anf O's guy. 2. Jim Boylen - Why is nobody mentioning Jim Boylen? He's been the hottest assistant coach in the NBA for a while. He did a solid job with the Spurs in 2013 and 2014 when they reached the finals. Prior to that he was the lead assistant with the Pacers. He was an assistant under Tomjanovich in his Rockets years and championship years. Knows a lot about the game. This guy is a MUST. 3. Jeff Van Gundy 4.Ettore Messina They should interview all of these guys.
I say try and get an interview with Kevin Ollie, curious as to what system he would install, but I think he might be a natural leader as a coach.
We need some kind of 8th grade B team coach who all the kids like. Bring the Jr. High Basketball spirit into the NBA.
Jeff Van Gundy would be a travesty, they guy is ultimately politically correct despite his image. People are acting like he brought glory to the franchise when in actuality he was an ultimate disappointment for the team.
Luke Walton? A glorified babysitter who's getting credit for the GSW historic run. Sure, he filled in for a little bit. But Steve Erkel could have run that team and had the same record. Apparently people think it was all Luke Walton instead of the players. Put him in charge of the Sixers and they likely won't win 65 games. Too much of an unknown Mark Jackson? How did GSW go from mediocre to historic? One big factor is they got rid of him. And now we expect him to take us to the promised land? No thanks
Only former head coaches will be considered, those assistants have no chance. If Hornacek is our next coach, I'm out.
No, people are acting like he'd bring with him great discipline and defense. Things he has taken with him everywhere he's coached. Two things which the Houston Rockets had ZERO of last season. Sheesh.
Brought defense at the expense of offense at the time. I think what Morey was getting at is you do not want to make the mistake of hiring a coach who preaches the opposite of what you good at during the games. I never knew being out the league and hoping someone has learned something on offense would be a strength. If anything, making a mistake and focusing on the opposite style of coach, which is defensive coach, would possibly be making the mistake in hiring Jeff Van Gundy.
This narrative is getting tiresome. JVG has already stated he would have a top offensive assistant. Next.
