I wouldn’t mind seeing the Rockets make a move for Markelle Fultz (if rumors are true) or probably more realistically at this point Courtney Lee. James Johnson wouldn’t be bad either. If we could somehow get Otto Porter I wouldn’t mind that either. Obviously we could definitely use a big to grab some boards for us as well. Harkless, Vucevic (contract year) or someone like that would be nice to have at this point as well. Obviously we would have to move EGO or Knight for Porter. We could move Chriss but at this point I am not sure any team would be willing to take him off our hands. Wish we could ship MCW out of here too.
Pop, being the great basketball mind that he is and having won championships in each of the last three decades, makes a very relevant point about today's game. The 3-pointer is a double edged sword, and if a of teams jump on this bandwagon, then it will ultimately spell the demise of the league. Most basketball purists already proclaim that the game is watered down these days. The three is so seductive because it's efficient and can quickly swing the outcome of a game. But heavy emphasis only on the three, especially given the lack of talent and personnel, can just as easily break a team. Look what's happening to us. We rely on Harden/Green/Paul/Gordon/Tucker/Ennis to catch fire with 3s to bail us out that we don't really focus on other things like defense, rebounding, switching, taking charges, steals, etc. And if we don't catch fire, then we lose. There are many times when I'm watching a Rockets game where a guy is almost unguarded inside the 3 or someone can easily cut to the basket for layup or dunk and all we see is Harden or Paul dribbling down the clock and jacking up a 3. If it goes in, everyone's happy and we move on. If not, then it often times lead to a fast break by the opposing team and we get scored on. Our role players just stand around waiting for Harden or Paul to pass the ball out so they can shoot 3s. No emphasis on cuts or breaking down the defense. If you can make a 3 with a hand in your face, you can make big $$$ in the NBA. You just need to learn to do one thing really well and you'll be in the league for years to come. People tend to forget, the Warriors are great not because they're great at shooting 3s. Yes they have the Splash Brothers and Durant. The Warriors also play tremendous defense. They also have old school guys like Livingston and Iggy who can play the midrange game to perfection.

Not so sure. If Markelle Fultz could shoot but not rebound or block shots, I would be all for it. He did not get right qualities for this league. I value shooting above everything else now. Maybe at the same pedestal as passing and handling the ball.
