CC was an evil idiot. He never really believed he found something new. That being said, even though other foreign groups landed on these shores first, they don't really matter because their settlements or contact didn't change things. The one that did change and set things in motion was Columbus. So it isn't that he got here first, it is that his landing is the one that made the change.

I'm not a fan of his. I get his significance but he was cruel, idiotic, and responsible for horrible murders, slavery, etc.

Maybe Jackson Browne could have written some of the scripts too, that was an audiovisual sedative.

It's an accurate representation of Cuomo and Deblasio having a political discussion though Horshack would be a better fit for the mayor.

I’m sorry but someone quoting the N word, particularly to express their opposition to that word being used to slur a group of people, isn’t racist.

But he was Italian. I don't have a problem with keeping the statue. Some won't agree with me, but that's OK. There shouldn't be a "Columbus Day," of course, but a huge number of Italian immigrants came to our country through New York, and if the statue makes a lot of them feel good, where is the harm? The history of how Columbus acted after rediscovering the "New World" is taught in school, unlike some other American history that is still ignored. His actions and the consequences aren't hidden.

Because actors and baseball players are are important as Columbus

Columbus hate is so stupid. Teaching about Columbus to elementary school kids suma up in one figure the reason and importance on the "discovery " of America

    The scientific renaissance
    The religious ramifications
    The economic motivation

are all summed up in Columbus.

Columbus isn't responsible for slavery. Slavery was going to follow the discovery regardless of who discovered it

    Life imitates alert

so when the virus killed off humanity and the apes became smart
They made the humans their slaves
None of the humans could talk until Charleston Heston came back from space
Dr Zayus kept telling Heston that humans were always idiots and Heston said they weren’t
Until Zayus told him about the forgotten zone
Where Heston saw the great statue Of Liberty
    Destroyed

Elon has to get there first. His Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon crew capsule are really impressive. The Russians are pissed off about it.
