Newsgroups/Usenet is much better than any private/non-private torrent site there is out there. MAX speeds on just about everything. And by everything I mean, movies, music, games, and my favorite, P RN! Whatever you can think of, apps, ebooks, ect. Anything new released on the net is most likely found in a newsgroup. Also, unlike torrents, you don't have to worry about ratios or uploading anything. You just download. It's the best $14.95 per month I have ever spent. Oh, and a quick question for R2K. Is there any possibility in the future that you upload your rockets clips/games to usenet? I know it's a small fraction of us out there but It would be great to just grab the nzb file for the rockets games and download them at max speed.
Exactly I don't mind paying 15 bucks a month for real downloads but I don't want to get caught with my real info out there for downloading some movies and music. I know torrents and p2p are in no way anonymous but they don't bring any unwanted attention as well. I've heard people getting letters from Comcast saying there connection was terminated for illegal downloading. Don't know how that works but I know they are messing with the bandwidth for a lot of people sending fake packets to stop connections.
It's very secure/anonymous. Way more than torrents. Your not hosting any files on your pc or sharing them when you are using usenet. You download files from "message boards" (not like forums but similar) off the service provider's servers. Let's just say you won't be receiving any letters from the RIAA like some people have got from using torrents.
