There are people named "Ling Ling?" That's like naming somebody Smith Smith. There are thousands of Chinese posters here, I'm sure somebody could clear this up.

 

it is uncommon to use just one name in chinese culture. Have you ever wondered why they always say Uncle Mutombo or Big Yao?

Little Ling or Ling Ling are very popular names to call someone you are familar with. If you are not familar with them you would just use their entire name.

The sleaze goes both ways. I'm definitely in the middle but voting Obama this time. The only reason there is more sleaze about Palin (which lasted for all of 1 week) is that- news flash- there happen to be more Democrats/liberals on this board- or, better yet, more people who support Obama. McCain is not as bad as the liberals make him out to be, and the same with Obama and the conservatives. Both sides are typically overexaggerating as they tend to do in order to support their party. McCain happens to be in a situation in which he is linked with Bush, so that may be his downfall. But I'm sure he would make a better president than 2nd term Bush.

But he hasn't helped matters by running a campaign that attacks Obama not on his ideas, but on personal connections that are dubious at best. I'm still waiting for the Obama camp to bring up G. Gordon Liddy, Jesse Helms, and some of McCain's questionable associations, but I don't think they're going to resort to this at this point.

And Palin opens herself up to criticism. She violates almost every known, generally agreed upon principle for fair, balanced persuasion. I fully respect McCain and I think he's a much better guy than some on the board give him credit for- I really feel that he personally dislikes all the negativity but feels he has no choice. But as for Palin? She's blatant. Now if there's someone to be afraid of out of all 4, it's definitely her.

 

If McCain knew what a computer was, I'd be convinced that OMR is actually John McCain.
