SF can actually play 1 and 2. No matter if he will start as PG or not, he can be a good pickup to back up T-Mac.

I doubt we'll get him unless we plan on trading some PG. But i would love to see him in a rockets uniform again.

Why not? The more options we have, the better. Besides, it looks like Spanoulis won't be back one way or another.

You mean the lottery years when we didn't make the playoffs more often than not? yeah lets bring back THOSE glory years  Francis wasn't a good point guard in his best years. He was a good penetrator, a decent finisher, and a popular player (all of his all star appearance were due to fan voting), but more of a shooting guard than a point and he was most effective when dominating the ball. He hasn't done anything since leaving Houston to show he has improved on his weaknesses, and age and injuries have reduced his strengths.

For a vet minimum I would consider him, but I certainly don't expect he would be anything more than a role player for us and I'm not sure if he views himself that way.

According to Stevie Franchise he didn't HELP build TC he BUILT it by his lonesome. Some eras are better left in the past. My guess is we will have a hard enough time getting MJ to pass the ball, we don't need another 1 that dominates the ball.

EVERYTHING ELSE YOU GUYS SAY ABOUT STEVE FRANCIS COMING BACK ON CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS DOESN'T MEAN A THING.

THESE 3 WAYS ARE THE ONLY 3 WAYS WE SHOULD BRING HIM BACK. BRIAN YOU HAD IT RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

All this "heart" crap.....lets face it, they were not that great of a team then. They definitely were aggravating to watch.....dribble dribble dribble.

    More like a heart defect.

    You guys overvalue him.

Status Alert: The Trail Blazers are expected to buy out the final two years ($34.25 million) of Francis' contract, freeing him to agree to terms elsewhere after he clears waivers, the Los Angeles Times reports. (Jul 2)
