It's over. James has booked 25 rooms at the W Hotel in South Beach starting tonight, a source told The Post. That fuels speculation James will announce he will sign with the Heat tonight at 9 during an ESPN special. Normally I would say this is a confirmation for the Heat, but listening to people's thoughts about a misdirection and this all being for a show has gotten into my head that I'm actually starting to believe it. James is the exact type of guy who would go out of his way to fool everyone in order to make it a big time surprise tonight. Wow even reading what I just wrote down sounds ridiculously but it's possible and I wouldn't even be surprised.
PDcavsinsider Still nothing directly from #LeBron or inner circle. Despite some thinking this is a smokescreen, all sources say he's signing in MIA.
I will not be tuning in for the presser. If it is the Rockets, I will hear about it on ClutchFans; otherwise, disinterested.
i don't think his competitive nature will make him go to miami. it will be TOO easy for him to win a championship. i mean, announcing it in greenwich then fly down to miami? why not just announce it in miami in the first place?
Because he wan't to toy with every teams emotions. For all we know he is doing press conference in Greenwich, buying a house and renting rooms in Miami and then gonna say "HAHA" when he says he's staying in Cleveland. He can afford to do a huge practical joke like that... Bottom line I could care less with all this hype. Nothing means a damn thing until it's said and actually announced.
but i also don't think he wants to stay in cleveland. i mean, if you read bill simmon's column, he refused to meet a potential new coach of his team (izzo at the time). and he tried to call bosh to go to cleveland and bosh straight up refused. but i agree, everything is just swirling right now. but i don't think he'll stay in cleveland. it's between NY and miami right now.
Yeah...but his hometown is Akron, and he plays in Cleveland. I would be on the first plane out of there if I was a professional athlete.

PDcavsinsider Several GMs & prominent agents are defiant, insisting #LeBron will stay in CLE. They can't see the rationale of leaving $ and this process.
update: stephen A smith just said lebron will sign with the heat 5 year deal, with the option to opt out after 3 years. he says lebron will opt out for sure. he wants to win a couple of rings, opt out, let knicks and net have a bidding war over him -> and he'll eventually choose the knicks. wow, i love the guy as a basketball player (and i'll still follow him), but *******. that is diva-status.
