You know, when Juwan went down the thought crossed my mind that the Rockets should bring back Braggs. I didn't bother mentioning it here because it seemed unlikely to me. I'm really pleased with this. I didn't think he deserved to be cut last year. I hope this leads to him lasting in the NBA on one team or another. I really liked his hustle in his brief stint with us. I like this pick up because he's basically the opposite of Scott Padgett. It gives us some variety for match ups.

Do you really want him to? I don't see him playing much at all, but I could be wrong.

I really liked Braggs last year, I thought he should have been retained. Glad to have him back. Great opportunity for this kid.

Does this mean Barrett is gone?

I think this is a solid move. What I most remember about Braggs is that he was REAL quick to the ball in terms of rebounding. And that "quickness" is something we need. Personally I think Braggs moves immediately above Vin Baker in our lineup because of this fact.

Spoon/Padgett/Bowen will still get overwhelming majority of the minutes at PF.

BUT, Braggs is nice insurance in case Spoon is in foul trouble and we need another "banger" type PF in the game for defense and rebounding.

If it turns out he fits the team well and especially if he can help us grab the rebs, for sure I want him in the playoff roster. But I am not sure if he qualifies for a playoff roster spot or not. If he is just supposed to help us with the rest of the regular season, I would rather see more minutes from Padget.

As I recall, last year JVG explained his decision to cut Braggs and keep Wilks was because he always liked to have three point guards on his team. Well, now we've got James and Norris, so no need for poor Andre.

Braggs was the training camp guy last year that I wanted, too. Granted, he doesn't bring much-- no offense, especially-- but I remember that he always played extremely hard and did his very best to earn a spot and time on the Rockets. It's nice that his work has paid off and he's getting another chance to do something here.

Certainly not a SPLASH, but it's a move that sure can't hurt.

Im pretty sure to make the roster spot open up for Braggs they had to waive Barret.

And he's not on this Roster

I'm not surprised that Braggs is back. I was expecting him to be picked up. He knows the system ,rebounds well and can hit the jumper sometimes. At this moment we weren't likely to get someone who is much better than him.
He will work hard if nothing else.

I never got to see Braggs play, so I have to ask: what does he give us that Spoon doesn't?

Where does anyone think he'll fit in the rotation? I'd have to guess that he'd be the second or third option at the 4 depending on the opponent?

The name escapes me but Braggs was waived las year for another PF that went to UH. Wonder the whereabouts of that guy and why he wasn't considered.

Edit: He was Alton Ford and was on the Kings.

Actually, he's not on the Kings roster anymore...still don't know the whereabouts. I edited mine after you already quoted me. :)

Braggs is a good pickup because he is an athletic PF and as far as I can tell; when Baker is in, he's been at center. Braggs should be a big help rebounding.

Is he that guy some times we call him tank?
If so I think he is good at 3 also, am I right?

I like that guy and when we cut him I feel not good.
