Scott Bailey The San Antonio Spurs fresh off of an important season-opening win in Dallas and only hours before their 2006-07 regular season home debut, have added another player. Last year's Southwest Division champions have signed 6-7 guard/forward James White. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. White was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 31st pick in the 2006 NBA draft. He was then traded to the Indiana Pacers in a draft-night deal. In eight preseason games with Indiana, White averaged 3.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 17.5 minutes of action. White attended the University of Cincinnati, where he led the Bearcats in scoring (16.3) and free throw percentage (.838) during the 2005-06 season. An honorable mention All-Big East selection, White finished second on the Bearcats in steals (1.2), assists (2.0) and blocked shots (0.9) last season and was third in rebounding, picking up 5.1 caroms a game. Back in March, in a Big East Tournament loss to Syracuse, White scored a career-high 32 points, including five three-pointers. The Spurs roster stands at 15 players. The Black & Silver entertain LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight at 7 p.m. in AT&T Center.
