I have no doubt that Yao will make a lot of money on endorsements, however, I can't imagine that the management of the Sharks were stupid enough to not negotiate to dip their greedy little hands into his endorsement money also.

 

Ming will still make more money than 99.5% of all Americans. He will make more money than 99.99999% of all Chinese. Financially, he will be okay.

I do have some sympathy for him, but not for giving up a lot of his paycheck. The things I feel sorry for him about is trying to fit into airplane seats, buy clothes, walk under doors, never being able to drive a sports car, and always being stared at all the time. And of course, being so tall may result in health issues later in life.
