Yes it does, they found some suspicious devices and then did controlled explosions with them. The other things weren't bombs, though. They just found stuff they didn't know what it was, and it was said that they would do controlled explosions with that stuff. Whether that actually happened, I don't know, but it was part of the rumors flying around on Twitter and news sites.

That was after the first two bombs had gone off.

    And the media....

Just last night, during the live press conference after the capture, they specifically said they never gave an "all clear" to residents, which implied the suspect was gone or captured.

Then NBC switched to their reporter, who literally says "....after they gave the all clear."

Now people want to know why they gave an all clear. But they didn't. It's like that game where kids line up and kid1 says something to kid2 and they keep passing it on until the end and the last kid says something different. the media is in such a rush to report they sometimes just throw out there what seems correct or what they
    think they heard.

Yup, i remember that. The news reported they were just going to blow the suspicious items up, rather than mess with them. I don't remember hearing they actually did it though.

Ok Jack Ryan, I'll be sure to remember that for the next installment of Bourne.

Miranda rights should be void once you start blowing things up like bomberman.

We've had people kill a lot more people than this guy and the legal system held up just fine using Miranda.

"[Tamerlan] all of a sudden comes out from under cover and just starts walking down the street, shooting at our police officers, trying to get closer," Deveau said. "Now, my closest officer is five to 10 feet away, and they're exchanging gunfire between them. And he runs out of ammunition -- the bad guy -- and so one of my police officers comes off the side and tackles him in the street.
"We're trying to get him handcuffed. There's two or three police officers handcuffing him in the street -- the older brother. At the same time, at the last minute -- they obviously have tunnel vision, it's a very, very stressful situation -- one of them yells out, 'Look out!' and here comes the black SUV, the carjacked car, directly at them. They dive out of the way, and he (the younger brother) drives over his brother and drags him a short distance down the street." [Emphasis added]

I'm well beyond 19, but I have vivid memories of when I was that age. I can tell you with absolute certainty that I either knew what I was doing, or thought that I knew what I was doing all the time. A "kid?" I was no kid. I had my own place and had a live-in girlfriend, a part-time job and was going to school. Why on earth someone would think his age has anything to do with his actions is beyond me. His mind had everything to do with his actions. I knew right and wrong then. I didn't always do what most might consider "right," but I sure as heck knew what I was doing. Say that this fellow was heavily influenced by others, and I'll agree that it's entirely possible, even likely. Say he was mentally weak or mentally ill, which made him more susceptable to influence from others, and I'll reply that his alleged actions certainly look like those of someone with a serious mental deficiency, no character whatsoever, no humanity, and/or someone consumed with evil, whatever that really is. People like that might be capable of anything. This fellow certainly was.

Just don't call him a kid as if to make an excuse. He is no kid and there is no excuse for what he did. None at all.

What if the kid had no idea what was in the backpack maybe he thought it was a prank and it would be a stink bomb or something like that. Maybe the brother switched his backpack at the last minute. If you found out you accidentally blew up a bunch of people and you are in serious trouble what would you do? He was following his brother and all of a sudden he gets into a chase and his brother starts shooting at the cops. You don't want your brother to die so of course you are going to help him out. Then he saw an opportunity to get away so he took it.

Remember, he was negotiated out. He turned himself in. A true terrorist would have likely killed himself and become one with God.

I wouldn't go out partying and not say anything to anyone -- as would most people.
