A spokesperson for the FBI told Business Insider Friday that the agency would be putting out a statement "shortly" regarding its previous contact with either of the Tsarnaev suspects. The spokesperson would not confirm or deny that the agency had had any previous contact.

I just spoke to someone who is against but repeated my sentiments. You are clearly not everyone

 

They didn't rob a 7/11. Photographs taken at a Shell, which they did NOT rob.

 

I thought that was what I heard. Why in the hell is CNN, the "WORLD WIDE LEADER OF WORLD NEWS" still be saying this?

Why in the world would they admit to that? Maybe these brothers were being blackmailed...

 

I don't know. It really bothers me to see people crowing about that. I understand being upset with them, but that's more bloodthirst than I care for. And, if the 'too many bullet holes to count' quote is real, I don't think the car made a difference in the end.

Watching the news on Bloomberg TV earlier in the day and they put up an artist drawing of the perp with 3 identifying bullets: his name, his age, and that he ran over his brother. That's supposed to help us identify him for police? That's like one of those psych-ops things like leaking photos of Saddam in his underwear. It's bush league.

We remain committed to this. No apprehension of our suspect this afternoon but we will have one. We're committed to that.

We went through about 20 streets, door to door. Knocked on doors to ensure everyone was safe in their homes and saw the police on their streets. We did limited searches of their homes. Followed number of leads and none have been fruitful to this point. Much left to be done.

We are drawing back our tactical teams. State police will be providing additional patrol to Watertown.

This is a complicated investigation led by FBI. Our presence here today was about the safety of the people of the community. Unfortunately no positive results today, to this point.

The stay indoors request lifted. The MBTA is open, immediately. Asking the public to remain vigilant. We feel confident based on what we know about the status of the investigation right now that to that extent, we can return to living our lives. Remain vigilant.
