I think the North Koreans are reaching the end of their tenure there. Communism does not work and it will collapse upon itself in that country too.

Even in China they are embracing the capitalistic approach.

    Communism simply does not work.

Korea should be united as a democratic state.

It does have an effect though, doesn't it?!
    Sheeesh, it scared me!;)

*Also, is 24 planes REALLY enough to beat down an entire country?!
What the hell is in those B-Bombers?!

    This isn't really news...

24 B-1s and B-52s constitute more aerial firepower than many countries have, mr_oily. It's quite a big bang they're sending. Unfortunately, the B-2s are all going elsewhere...

Thank god we are going there so Japan doesn't decide to act pre-emptively and attack North Korea.

I think North Korea is just trying to pick a fight and it pretty much scares me because I really believe they would use their nukes.

The plans for deployment were made about a month ago, if I'm not mistaken, but not the date of deployment.

I would have expected the Nimitz battle group to head towards the area of the Korean Peninsula, not the Persian Gulf. That has surprised me, even considering the Turkish debacle. Perhaps the destination of that battle group will be changed after the latest incident.
