Well at least he picked on someone his own size for once.

I'm not engaging in the "class" debate. I just disagreed with the loser comment. KG was putting up good numbers before Sprewell and Cassell were there. Upon their arrival, he deserves as much credit for the team's success as both of them. Garnett didn't have any top notch talent surrounding him for most of the time he was with the Wolves. You can make a similar argument for Yao.

I stand by my belief that in today's NBA you are as good as your supporting cast/teammates. That's proving to be true for both KG and Yao. As for the references to both Allen and Pierce, did they win championships without KG? As for Yao, there is no 2nd round without the intangibles provided by the likes of Artest, Brooks, Scola, Landry and Co. And I'm not referring solely to scoring points either.

People may not respect him as a man but at least respect his game on the court. KG is nice and remains a central piece to any success that Boston has or will have this season. And I'm taking nothing away from Pierce, Allen and/or the other Celtics.

On this forum, I don't mind agreeing to disagree.

KG is a douchebag and a punk...and a bully...and a wimp, but you can be all of that and still be a productive player. KG was one of the best ever during his prime, the only reason why he didn't win anything was because Kobe and Shaq had each other, and TD had TP and Manu, and he was all alone in Minny. It was a freaking miracle they went to playoffs as many times as they did.

You can lose respect for KG as a person, but don't diss his game because KG is one of the pfs of all time.

Well this is moronic. CRUTCH time? I guess Yao Ming is the GOAT then because he's always in crutches right?

IMHO Greatness takes into account your entire game. So what if KG passes the last shot? What about the crazy defense and double double he put up the first three quarters? Do those stuff don't count once you get into the final 30 secs? If KG wasn't in the game, it would have probably been a blowout by the opposing team, and no matter how "clutch" your other players are, they wouldn't be able to do anything to win you the game. Throughout his carreer, KG has always been the best player on his teams, even until now. The celtics had PP, Allen, Rondo, and Glen Davis last season, and they just barely beat the bulls! If anyone rode anyone's coattails, they were the ones who rode KG's coattails to the championship.

Have u seen KG struggle all those yrs in crucial situations when choke on the last possession....KG is a hall of famer...we all know that....let me ask u this....down 2 pts who would u go to in the last 10 sec pierce, allen, or KG. KG sure made some nice passes to pierce and allen during the championship season in the playoffs....Dont get me wrong, i felt bad for KG being stuck in Minny all these yrs, but he choke there too....Last yr Celtics, sub a decent PF in for KG lets say a Sheed, Bosh, Amare, Dirk......im sure the celtics would have challenge for the title.

C'mon guys, enough with the debate over KG's character. That has its own time and place. This article and thread are about Stephen Jackson's life and journey to the NBA. It's about his trials, tribulations, and triumphs along the way, and lessons learned.

I know a lot of people on this website like to call Jackson names, but it's very telling that former teammates, coaches, and so on have nothing but good things to say about the guy, which is why I always said that I would go to war with Captain Jack.

Some of Larry Bird's comments from the article:

"I always liked Jack, I always got along with Jack," Bird said. "I know he's a good guy - when somebody plays that much hurt, you know he cares."

Bird said he's never encountered a player so tough about playing with injuries. He also finds Jackson's versatility remarkable.

"You hate trading away a guy with that skill set," Bird said. "He really can do every aspect of the game at a high level."

I don't like Stephen Jackson but I absolutely cannot stand KG. I'm glad somebody but Captain Douchebag in his place.

KG- great player, terrible antics. I don't think the crunch time debate makes him any less of a player but his brash and fake toughness made me lose respect for him. Loved the guy in Min, but when I saw him talking a big game all the time in Boston, it made me stop cheering for him. He may have been doing that in minny for all I know, but I saw it in Boston, when coverage was MUCH greater.

Yeah, he seems to be helping the bobcats. They're 6-5 with him while they were 3-6 before the trade.

It looks like he might be just enough to push them to their first playoff birth, where they'll get killed by the cavs or celtics. Those could be some very low scoring games.

Sjax said it, KG just will not stop bullying people. Some call it intensity, I just say he is a jerk, Need some reminding?

Sort of reminds me when the Warriors traded for him and Al Harrington. Without that trade Golden St. does not make the playoffs which would mean no upset of the Mavs. I doubt the Bobcats will upset anyone in the 1st round. Like you said they will be put out by the Cavs or Celtics. Not sure if they would get killed though I think they could put up a fight.

KG will only pick on the guy who won't say anything back.

    What an ass.
