Most new cases come with a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket to install an SSD/laptop drive. Some cases even have 2.5" slots to mount behind the motherboard. If not, they're easily found for $5 online or even free after rebate.
mine didn't bummer. but again, why should i have to drop money for one? you pay how much for an SSD and they don't provide a little tray for you? come on..that's all i'm saying
Also, are you using a 3.5 bracket for your SSD? You know that case can mount SSDs directly to the drive trays, right?
^yeah but it's a PITA to mount it now that the motherboard is screwed in and all parts are attached. Plus, the R4 has like 8 HDD bays so it's not like he's dying for space. On that note, I removed my 5-bay tray because it sheds like 2 lbs off. The case itself is already like 25 lbs, and with all parts in gets up to 30.
Yeah went with the Fractal R4. Seems like a good all-around case. I was afraid the H100i cooler fans (which I still have to replace with Noctua NF-F12's) were going to be too crammed, but it seems like there's enough space for everything. Yeah, my original intention wasn't to use a 3.5 bracket, but I had an extra one lying around with a fan on it. I'm holding out for another big SSD deal, so I won't be using any of the other bays for a while. And then later I'll likely add an HDD for some media.
Whoops, got him confused for the other guy talking about buying a 3.5" mount for his SSD. I personally own an XL R2 which is the full tower version with 240mm Coolmaster Seidon with push/pull fans mounted at the top. Have about 4 hard drives and 1 SSD mounted as well. This thing is a heavy mother.
Here's my setup that I haven't modified in months (Aside from removing one of my 7870's and giving it to my nephew.) Don't mind the cable hanging (belongs to fan splitter for case door fan) and my uncut zip tie.

decided to just go with a new SSD drive and an OS update. went with Windows 7 64 bit and Samsung Electronics 840 Pro Series sooooo much better than my old 7200rpm hard drive and windows vista my build. started out as a Velocity Micro E2230 I bought a long time ago. Sorry for bump. Can someone help me choose a new video card. I don't know anything about building pc's. Someone else built it years back and i bought it from him, but now i need to upgrade. Currently: GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 CPU: Intel i5-2500k @3.30GHz Memory: 12 GB RAM Motherboard: Asus p8p67 evo 700 Watt power supply How do i know what i can upgrade to? I was looking into GTX 960, will that fit fine? is it a good card? 970 worth the extra cash? Here is what i was going to do: Buy new GPU + Nvidia Shield to stream games in the living room(120mbps internet should be fast enough i assume) OR Buy PS4 Thoughts?
970. 960 is not like its predecessor (760) in terms of value. Also NVIDIA cards are so easy to overclock because they don't put out that much heat.
Ok. So 970 is the recommendation. But,how do i buy one that fits my motherboard? Are they all the same? Brand doesn't matter? I see EVGA, MSI, ASUS, PNY, ZOTAC brands.
