Mcgrady didn’t screw the Magic. The Magic screwed themselves. Mcgrady didn’t go to Orlando to initiate the trade talks. It was Orlando’s GM that forced the issue by giving Mcgrady an ultimatum, sign a long-term extension or be traded.

Given those two choices, I do not blame Mcgrady one bit for preferring a trade rather than committing long term a team with an uncertain future.

I am for the T-mac trade. I liked Steve as a player but was frustrated with him at the same time. I liked the T-mac trade all along, but I still felt bad to see Steve go. Now...I dont feel bad about it at all. I really thought that maybe he had learned his lesson from pulling that stunt with the draft and Vancouver that brought him here, but apparently not. Just like how he never learns how important each possession of every game is. Just like how he makes the same boneheaded mistakes over and over...

    Some people just never learn.

Steve you make millions...you are under contract to do that. You have no rights to pick what the team does with your contract in a trade situation. Be a MAN for once!!!

Well I have now learned all I need to know about Francis. I am no longer a fan of his and if we get stuck with him now it will be hard to watch.

I said it before but im going to say it in bigger letters so everyone can see.

You support T Mac's crap because he wants to come here but what are you going to say in 1 or 2 years when he DONT want to be here

If he were to pull some crap on us, we would never get anything like were giving up back for him. If he does it once he can do it again

for all the people who said "does Steve not think he can take the magic to the playoffs?" So in other words your saying

magic with T Mac/Lue/Howard=worst team in the NBA
    magic with Francis/Cat/Cat=Playoff team

Then my question to you is WHY DO YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS TRADE!

And if you think steve is screwing the rockets the rockets are screwing him 10x. Think about it,

He came to us in 1999 as a rookie in complete rebuilding mode with alot of young players and started out rough, then they had that great win against Portland and looked to be going somewhere, Barkley went down they struggled. They found themselfs and finished the season strong at 18-3 I think off the top of my head. Then next year they were robbed when they had 45 wins and were in the strongest confence the nba has ever seen. Next year injury came in steve missed 6 weeks the rockets went almost winless. that brought in Yao Ming and after 1 year of adjustments they make the playoffs things start looking good. Just like that BOOM we trade him, you want to talk about screwing somebody. Steve and cat stuck with us through thick in thin, though good and bad, never demanding a trade and just when things start to look good we ship them both out the door. And to make it worse, its another bad sitution.

The best sitution I can compare this to is a group of Astronauts spending years of work getting ready for a space mission. and the week before takeoff NASA tells them "Hey were going to go ahead and let this guys go up, yall come over here and start working on this mission"

    Agent86,

Yes, the Rockets are screwing Steve over. That's the NBA...he'll just have to enjoy his millions in Orlando.

I truly believe Tracy Mcgrady just wants to win, and win now. He's been on mediocre to bad teams since he came into the league, and he's ready to taste some success. The only reason I can see him demanding a trade from Houston is if we just hit the tank and don't make strides toward winning a championship in the next couple of years. Frankly, if it came to that, it would probably be best to shake things up again 2 or 3 years down the road. But, looking at this team with T-Mac, that shouldn't happen.
