wow...thx for sharing your story AroundTheWorld. Talk about extreme measures. I always wonder what the inventors of those procedures thought. "What if we drill a puller into his bone almost like a torcher rack but more like a reverse clamp." It's a wonder you wouldn't get addicted to pain meds. Another procedure, open heart surgery, "What we need to do is take a wedge and hammer and break open the sternum, then pry the rib cage apart so I have better access to the heart. Do you think that will work." For some reason the picture reminds me of how dentist move your teeth with braces.
I think men with height issues are usually ones who are shorter than most women. Average height for a woman in the US is 5'4". So if you're 5'2", I could see where you'd have issues. 5'7" is 3 inches shorter than the average male. Pretty standard deviation and plenty of guys walking around at that height to where you don't feel that out of place even though you know you're short. I've always felt lucky that I'm 6'1". Only 14.5% of men are 6' or taller.
On another note, how does a 37 year old take off a whole year from work in a recession and stay employed? How does he even afford $85k surgery that is not covered by insurance, while he is not working? Internet business? Inheritance? Is he just working but walking with crutches? What do you tell people? I broke my legs. Won't people notice you grew 6", when you start standing again?
He went to foreign countries for the surgeries too -- it was a trip watching him turn his ankle and 'break' his leg. He does it 9 times a day for 1 mm -- the new 'lengthener' is all internal and goes inside the femur.
