I watched Araujo alot in college. The dude is NOT a stiff. He doesn't have freakish athletic ability, but he works hard and plays even harder. On the court, he was as mean as it gets, and almost all opponents feared him.

He plays in a conference that doesn't receive alot of national publicity. I watched the first round in the NCAA tournament between Syracuse and BYU. The guy almost killed Syracuse single-handedly on offense. In the end, they were trying to double him, but still couldn't stop the guy. There is a reason he was taken #8. In fact, I heard a couple teams were trying to move up in the lottery ahead of Toronto to pick him up.

His defense is really not that good, that's for sure, and he picks up stupid fouls all the time, and it sometimes keeps him away from the court. However, he's new to the game of basketball, and he'll learn alot more about the game as he goes on.

He might surprise you next year with his performance.

BTW, how do you tell who's a stiff and who's the next KG based on a pre-draft profile by nbadraft.net? I always wanted to learn that art/science, but never could. Based on their names? Based on if there is the word "freak" apears in their profile?

Have to agree with DeAleck's assessment of Araujo. He got drafted too high, IMO, but a young frontcourt like Bosh and Araujo is definitely serviceable in the East. Bosh moves to his natural 4 position, and Araujo is a big body who can bang and take his game outside at times. Not a stiff; better pick than Kaman was last year, IMO.

If the Raptors ARE looking to move Carter, I would think they'd do it to get better stuff than just JRich or Shandon Anderson. Maybe if it was JRich, Howard, and Finley...but that's still just a bunch of smalls.

Who were the dudes on the McGrady Bandwagon in 1999 and 2000. Someone in here was riding his jock from way back.

You would think that if they trade an AllStar they'd get one in return. Just doesn't make sense.

This morning there are reports of the deal involving only 3 teams, GS having dropped out, but I still don't see any mention of Toronto getting anyone worthwhile.

As it should be. If Toronto was talking Carter for Iverson I could see that happening because Iverson puts butts in seats. But this notion of trading Carter for some role players is BS. The franchise can't afford to make that trade.
