New York Daily News Prediction: McGrady to Clippers for Elton Brand

If we can get Yi and a #1 pick up for Tracey (that's not a typo), I'd be ecstatic. Yi is 200% more athletic than anyone in our roster at the moment and has enough range that he can play both PF and SF position giving the spacing we need for Yao to do his thing. And with the Buck's season going into the tank, we can potentially have a top 5 pick.

Tmac for Josh Howard actually doesn't sound all that bad...........

 

Brand has been very durable over the last 3 seasons until the Achilles injury. Although, I think this deal would not benefit us overall the thought of having Brand coming over as a weak side defender gives me chills. Yao and Brand down low would like the paint down so hard it would be insane.

If we could package Tmac with someone else and somehow get a quality, slashing guard along with Brand in the deal I would do it yesterday.

 

Maybe someone like Maggette?

He already took his turn with the Redd, Villanueva and a 1st for T-Mac and Bonzi.

This sounds amazing. I'm in favor of keeping tmac but if we are shopping him, Josh Howard is EXACTLY what we need.

Plus, this would make the mavs alot worse. I would love to face dirk and tmac. the mavs without howard would be a defenseless disaster. Plus, tmac can iso cuban.

How about a crazy trade idea?

TMac + Francis for Lamar Odom + Kwame Brown + 1st.

Then swing Brown's expiring contract for a 2-guard. Maybe Memphis would want to rid themselves of Mike Miller's contract? Odom's deal ends next season so they could gain some real nice cap space or maybe he might actually compliment Yao and Adelman's offense pretty well.

Like I said, crazy idea.

 

That was the first guy to come to mind but I don't see what we have on the roster to package with Tmac that would get us both Brand and Maggette. I figured a third team would have to be involved.


I'm horrible at these trade scenarios. I don't have much of a grasp on what can and cannot be done regarding exchanging players.

Both guys would play out of there minds for a few months after being "energized" by new surroundings and with a desire to disprove the doubters. Of course, after half a season or so they will both revert back to being underachievers but what an exciting 30-40 games we would get in the meantime!! LOL

I think talk of Brand being injury prone are exaggerated. Look at his last 3 years before the achilles injury:

2004-2005: 81 games played
2005-2006: 79
2006-2007: 80

how about a 3-way deal? if clippers are willing to give out brand for tmac, why dont' they give out brand to some other team who has a player that we want.

Rockets give tracy to clippers. And the clippers give the wizards brand. The wizards gives us jamison.

brand is a great player with great value. he just doesn't fit in with yao. so either we trade for him and trade him right away. or do a 3-way trade.
