Just don't let this "real life" thing get in the way of what's important--your bbs post count!

Small business and tax consulting. Or whatever else I can convince people to pay me for ;).

I was previously in a small partnership but decided to scale down (to one!) to spend more time with my family. It was either that, or cut back on cc.net browsing.

A little scary....but i'm looking forward to the change.

You lose self worth if you make new years resolutions and you don't stick with them.

Don't make any that you know you won't be able to live up to.

My resolutions include to stop negative thinking or as I call it "stinkin thinkin"

I need to be more positive. I need to tell myself that things will work out in the end.

Also I want to put some Jews in a well.

Mine is actually to quit reading and posting on message boards. I post on this one and 2 others (hunting/fishing related & bodybuilding related). Takes up way too much of my time when I could be doing other things more rewarding.

I also feel like (and I read a study somewhere on this) that message boards attribute to ADHD. When you read short burst type replies and bounce around from topic to topic, forum to forum, etc.. then you aren't really concentrating on one thing long enough and I could see how that could train your mind to wonder.... in real life situations/conversations, etc.... Also the D&D areas add stress to my life that I could do without.

So, after the 1st you guys won't see me much (i'm sure that is a good thing to some of you, lol). I'll still come here to read Rockets related things if there is a signing or trade, but no more than that from me after the 1st.

Oh, I'm not planning on quitting either...it's just an experiment! Seriously, I only smoke a few days a week (when I drink), so I would like to learn to drink without smoking. I'm just aiming for a month to "cleanse" myself before I go on destroying my body again. :D

    I resolve to consume less.

    Less booze
    Less food
    Less electronics
    Less everything

I also resolve to exercise more and get myself back in shape.

I want to blimp to about 3 bills and do more illegal drugs.

Too bad I'm fixed or I'd try to impregnate an underage girl.

I'd say throwing less hookers into the river behind my house.

The sirens get old after a while :(

Well, I'm in Houston obviously playing for the Rockets.

But whenever I go back home to New Jersey, typically the Hudson river.

    I resolve to:

#1. Actually make some New Year's Resolutions this year, and get it done on time (before midnight on the 31st).

#2. Go ahead and move as soon as I get back from vacation. (I've needed to do this for a long time.)

#3. Somehow, get my personal life straightened out and also figure out where I'm going career-wise. (I sort of have to; there's a deadline on this. I just hope and pray that I do the right things.)

    #4. Lose weight.

    #5. Say fewer stupid things.

#6. Manage to work it into conversations with all my friends that, "I say a lot of things that don't come out right", so at least they'll know in advance that I don't really mean to say stupid things. :)

#7. Be strong, do at least one positive or productive thing every day to move my life forward, do not succumb to depression or inertia or weakness...

and, if I hit "submit reply" now, at least I'll have kept one of my resolutions. :)
