I wonder when Manfred is going to order Steinbrenner to fire Cashman over the Yankees cheating scandal? I wont hold my breath.
So we will just totally ignore anything that the Red Sox or the Yankees did regarding sign stealing? Anybody expected anything different?
Apparently we do. Steinbrenner tells Manfred he wants the roof open and Manfred carries out the orders.
I know there's this idea that the Astros are in the heads of the Yankees and their fans, but it seems there's some Astros fans who seem to think more about the Yankees than the Astros.
This could be nothing at all, but I find it interesting nonetheless. I’d love to know if Joe Smith really said something, and knows more.
It'll take one of the lesser players from the Yankees or Dodgers in 2017/2018 that needs a pay day and sell their story. I'm pretty sure the Astros players know what those teams did so if/when it does come out, the way the Astros will look like saints is that they took all of the abuse for years but didn't out those other teams. Spaeder and others have put it out there before that the Dodgers not only had cameras at home but they tried to set one up in MMP. That's worse than the Astros. My contribution to that thread...
Who cares at this point? Why on Earth would you bring this up now 4 months later in this thread? Just let it go and shut the **** up about it.
I am convinced that all baseball teams have attempted to steal signs at one time or the other. Kind of like football defenses trying to guess what play the offense is going to run. They read the formation, listen for clues in what the QB says at the line, etc. Spying on practices which has been done is going too far. If the pitcher touches his nose every time he throws a fast ball, that is fair game. Using video equipment is a bridge too far, but clever.
The Astros follow the codified MLB guidelines for the ground rules at MMP during the postseason. Nothing more, nothing less. It sucks, but it is what it is.
