I was on base for maybe a week out of each month (in for 3-5 days then back out for a week or two) to shower, get new clothes, eat real food, and then get ready to go back out. It was nice to play COD with some of the guys I was with for a few hours. You won't be able to do that if this isn't changed.
After the sim city **** storm i'm surprised microsoft isn't going back to the drawing board on this idea. Something being overlooked here is xbox live. I bet microsoft is looking to profit more by making their console "always online". I'm willing to bet they remove the "silver" feature and turn it into a subscription based service like netflix. I'm holding onto the premise that PSN won't drastically change and still let users play online for free. I play games casually but when i do i like to access the online features of my games. Thats why i prefer the ps3, it lets me play my games without a commitment to pay extra for a service i already pay for (internet). And besides the "extra" features of Xbox live require a separate subscription like nexflix, and espn. Now if both consoles require some-kind of monetary internet service, I just won't but them lol. I will still purchase it, along with the Ps4. Remember each console has their own exclusives, and btw the worst console I bought recently is the WiiU due to their lack of games.
Serious question: why did you buy a WiiU? What convinced you? Seems to me it has Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate... and that's, like, it.
The funny and sad thing is I saw a thread of this pop up on the Simcity forums and literally there were some people saying what you just said. "Shouldn't you be doing army stuff and not playing video games?" So some people actually believe this.
Lets just wait and see what happens. I still think its pointless to argue over game consoles.... If you dont want your console hooked up to the internet 24/7 then get a ps4. If you dont care then get wichever system has the games you want to play. If you get a ps4 and the game you want is only on xbox and you object to the always online xbox then tough luck... Deal with it..... Personally I am going to get the new xbox because I had the first, 360 and even thou I dont spend much time with consoles I will still get the new one just because I want to. I will not go out of my way thou to get a ps4 because there are no games on ps that interest me enough to make me buy the console. I'm neither trolling or trying to argue this topic. I just think this outcry is crazy when the PS4 is going to be out there offering everything people seem to want. Just get the PS4 and be happy.....
A lot of you guys sound like that Adam Orth guy. Quiet a few of us live in rural areas away from the city where broadband is'nt even available. My current provider is Clear and while it's fine for web browsing, it sucks for Xbox Live. A 3GB game takes around 7 hours to download. I lag so much during matches that my opponents always abandon my games. I would always receive messages telling me how much my internet sucked lol. I did'nt even renew my trial subscription of Xbox live, I said f*k this.
I have clear, and it works fine. My stats on COD are unreal. Probably because I lag and everyone else doesn't.
What makes you think that playing a couple hours online is more time consuming and geeky than playing a couple hours offline?
And what I don't understand is, why there are so many people who say "I will for sure get system x" before knowing anything about it. Seriously. I don't get it. Please explain. Maybe if either one had backwards compatibility then maybe I'd understand. But they don't. There are no PS4 games that interest you enough to buy the console, but there are on the 720, you say? What games? It's probably over 6 months before launch, and unless I'm seriously missing something, there are barely any games announced (if any at all outside of Killzone 4). Personally, I'm not buying either one until I know for sure there will be games I really want on them. Just because I liked the PS3 better this gen, I'm not going to just assume PS4 > 720 before knowing jack anything about their game lineups.
Here's my issue, and I'm sure someone else has already said the same thing. What happens when the internet goes out? Guess I wont be able to play. Also, I remember as a kid going to visit my grandparents house for a couple weeks. There was nothing to do, so my brother and I would bring our NES to pass some of the time. They didn't have the internet, so it would be pointless to bring the 720.
I can't believe anyone would consider buying a new x-box 720 after the abysmal quality of the 360 -- what was the failure rate 98.5% or so? I still need to send one in for repair, but probably waited too long.
I'm not talking about the lineup of the ps4 but about the franchises of each console. I apologise for the unclear statement. Either way most games go both ways. And once again, after having the first xbox and the 360 I really want to continue with xbox. I'm sure both systems will be great but I personally love my 360. I got the elite version when it came out and I it still works. In fact, I went to play with it today again after this thread. I had not turned it on in soo long but its seen its fair share of Halo. PS4 is going to be a great console I'm sure but I doubt its going to be better than the new xbox......
The original design had a design flaw, yes. However, the redesign 2010 Slim version is ROCK-SOLID. I have one. Microsoft learned from its mistake. The 720 will be rock solid as well. They fixed the problem with the original in late 2008 production. My son has one and it has been rock solid.
