It will be interesting see if any republican will vote for this bill... and whether this will create calls for filibuster changes...

And then queue Republicans saying they are interested, but need time, and then come back in two months saying X,Y, and Z are non-starters, and then Democrats change X,Y, and Z to accommodate, and then they say they just need more time, and then 2 months later the bill changes again, and then the Republicans say something about the need to privatize social security, and then this dies right in time for the mid-terms.

I do not trust for 2 seconds that Joe Manchin can get 10 Republicans for this bill. Nor do I think he can get it done in a matter of weeks. The guy has shown no ability to get bipartisan deals passed, and probably is the reason why the Bipartisan infrastructure deal is unlikely to pass because he made promises that he'd kill the 3.5 trillion House bill and because of that both bills are unlikely to pass unless they water down the 3.5 reconciliation bill enough to where Republicans wont back out of the BiPartisan Senate bill.

This guy sucks at leading these negotiations. How have Democrats not figured it out by now and learned how to just cut deals with him directly to keep him out of the bill negotiations. See his gun law bill that went nowhere prior.

Manchin said his plan is this: “It’s to get 10 Republicans.” Told us he’s talking to “reasonable Republicans and friends of mine who understand we need guardrails”

    Memes are frying American brains.

Non-citizens have voted in local elections throughout various parts of nation for centuries. The constitution only bars them from voting in federal offices. So if a local municipality allows non citizens to vote on their local elections, that's up to said municipality and residents there.

    You know... States rights...

What is the reason for making voting MORE restrictive?

I would understand if there were problems with the security of our elections, but with voter fraud at inconsequential levels, what is reasoning in making voting MORE restrictive?

I think increasing voter turnout is more representative.

Now is not the time to allow illegal immigrants to vote, it will only validate the GOP’s efforts to restrict voting rights.

Maybe just count non-citizens vote as 1/2 a vote. Compromise.

In federal elections there is no need to compromise as a non-citizens' vote is already worth 0 votes.

So I don't know what you exactly are pulling out of your ass.

But no one here at least is asking for non citizens to vote for federal elections. Non citizens could vote in local elections depending on the local regions policies for centuries in this country.

However If you are trolling then don't mind me. Carry on.

Biden goes nuclear in Georgia: It's time to get rid of the filibuster

    https://hotair.com/allahpundit/2022...its-time-to-get-rid-of-the-filibuster-n440847

    excerpt:

An ugly speech by a desperate man, one that included this bon mot: “Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? The side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? The side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”

It’s pointless asking him to be more respectful of Senate Republicans. But you’d think he’d consider Joe Manchin’s and Kyrsten Sinema’s feelings considering he still needs both of their votes if there’s still any chance of passing Build Back Better. “You support slavery and segregation” isn’t a great opener on negotiations.

When you said that I thought Biden did something like try to throw out millions of votes from urban minority districts like Fulton county effectively trying to violate the conditional rights of millions of Americans in the process.

Nvm, that was Trump and it's precisely why the Voting rights bill that Biden is pushing is necessary and is literally only divisive to fascists.
