Theya re an alltime high after dumping their whole roster that got them those wins last year? Now they only Amare and alot less to help him out this year after they dumped people too. Not just David Lee who they dumped possibly either. The other guys along the way also.
The Picks overall value at the moment is not looking good. a lot of ppl here underestimate Stoudemire's value and ability. At the moment, i think the knicks are a playoff team if they keep lee, mac, and add stat. Remember the Knicks play in the east. and im almost positive they will add another superstar to the lineup, even if it is not LBJ or Wade. Duhon Mac Chandler/Gallo Stoudemire Lee thats enough in my opinion to at least make the playoffs in the east, plus their team can only improve cuz IMO they have too much money not to get more quality players
Amar'e To Meet With Nets, Bulls On Tuesday Amar'e Stoudemire isn't fully committed to signing with the Knicks after all. Stoudemire is scheduled to meet with New York on Monday, but will meet with the Nets and Bulls on Tuesday, according to sources. http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wi...ealGM+Basketball+Wiretap)&utm_content=Twitter
The question is going to be whether these other teams will match NY's 5 year max offer-- and not worry about the knee issue. NY seems the most wreckless team out there, having the pressure to at least add some big name. However, I can see Bulls and Nets wanting to make a splash, too. They are meeting with Stoudemire knowing he has a full max offer, so I guess they are at least contemplating offering him that.
Amare is a mercenary. He will go to the highest bidder. If he goes to Prokarov and New Jersey offers him two cents more? He will not sign up to play for the Knicks. He will all the sudden be a Net.
yea but the Nets w/ stat are better than the Knicks w/ Stat. that would be a good basketball move too.
im more concerned the knicks will end up with the #1 pick at this point then in the playoffs and out of the lottery. the knicks DO NOT have a team at this point and more and more players are being signed to other teams every day. are they going to be able to assemble a team of guys that have never played together that are going to knock the bucks/raptors/pacers out of the playoffs??? i dont think so i hope the rockets keep the picks next year. it will be like having to 2 teams to root for the entire season one to win and one to lose every game.
Does Amare have a Twitter account. Harris Lee Williams, D.James Amare, Favors Lopez That's a nice team. Rockets fans need to go undercover as Nets fans in order to encourage him to sign with the Nets. Help protect the value of those NY picks.
don't forget NJ, was a 3 to 1 dog to get the #1 pick even with 12 wins. The odds don't lie. Also if NY is really tanking, Morey could certaintly use those at the trade deadline. We'll know alot more about Yao and the future of the franchise then.
Two superstars and a team of scrubs can get you the 5th seed in the east. Heck, we had two superstars and a bunch of scrubs and we got the 4th seed in the west (Yao + Tracey + scrubs)...and everyone wanted a championship here!
The 5th seed in the East last season ended up picking #18 overall. If that's my worst (realistic) case scenario, I can live with that. I'm still thinking that the pick may more likely land in the #8 to #12 range.
Fortunately, the Knicks have absolutely nothing of value to offer Denver or San Antonio for those players right now. And if New York wants to just sign Amare, and then wait until next summer to get Anthony and/or Parker, that's fine by me. That 2011 pick swap will be even more valuable than we thought!
Lockout could make for a very weak draft class. I think the Spurs could do it for a TE. Nuggets the same?, supposedly would rather get anything from a trade than lose Melo for nothing next year.
Why do that trade THIS year? Why not sign and trade them NEXT summer for a trade exception? By then, the Rockets will have already gotten the #4 pick of the draft.
Sounds like Amare Stoudemire is trying to justify his salary by telling people hiring him => getting more stars who want to play with him. Sounds like he's a bit jealous he wasn't invited to the "Free Agent Summit." Doubt other players are that drawn to him.
Amare isn't a superstar though. Before Nash, D'Antoni coached Amare, and 2 second tier stars , Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion, to only 21 wins in 61 games. I could see them winning 30 games at best.
