The Rockets would only have the MLE next season with Hughes's contract. Only the MLE = No Ariza = No dice!
I'm weak on cap knowledge. Why would a salary much less than T-Mac's hurt our cap situation, assuming we didn't resign Gordon?
1) Do you actually think your getting a big name back in 2k10? You (almost all of you) act as if this FA frenzy is a guarantee for us, think again, those guys already have their mind made up. They know if they are staying or where they are going. 2) Larry Hughes? Even if this stuff was real, legit you act as if he would be playing or getting mass minutes. 3) Too many of you are acting as if tracy is the shiet right now and actually worth something, stop sucking on his ... and start realizing his worth if he was trade before the deadline. 4) Add the salaries, Phoenix gets screwed of the cap and if they are giving up AS, I sure as hell hope they would get someone in return. While he is overrated he sure as heck isnt a bad player. Better then any of the Bulls player just about. 5) Just about any trade ridding Tmac and having a Tmac-less starters unit is stat wise proven and chemistry proven to be better.
Why would you want a player with feet worse than my 88-year-old mother's? We can do a lot better with the MLE.
Gordon is basically a younger Mike Miller, who a lot of people on this board like to complement this team. He's a great outside shooter with poor defense. Like a rich man's Luther Head. If he can handle the ball at all he might be able to take some of Alston's minutes. Hughes is garbage. I have no problem with this trade if Tmac will never be as good as he was before this season.

so, you relied on stats to help convince you? try watch some games instead before you make a hasty opinion. stats only tell you half the story and many times stats just don't do the player justice. but with all that said, i think it's a good trade. ben gordon is a very good player if he plays disciplined within the system.
I will take the expiring contract (2010) from LH. Otherwise McGrady will be taking up cap space and not contributing like he is doing right now. LH does play defense and would not be expected to lead this team, but merely be a role player. As for Ben Gordon, the man is a scorer. He can definitely open the floor, slash, create his own shot and not afraid to take the last shot. When you think about it, what would you be missing? McGrady is about to be lost to microfracture surgery anyways.
larry hughes doesn't play defense, he was an overrated defender that one year in washington and somehow got on the all defense team proving more and more how much that award in this era has been a joke. if u guys are fed up with tmac and artest's shot attempts wait for hughes who takes the same type except he's a much worse shooter. he's a negative to the team...i can't believe ppl think he's good, he's absolute ****, just like this rumor.
