I know your problem man, you have to wear them in! Like the first 20 times u wear them, they are really tight on your feet. That is actually so that it can mold the shape of your foot so you have control inside your shoe. Wear them more often then they will loosen up and be very comfortable. Trust me, when I first got mine, I cursed myself. Thank god they ended up working out good. BTW, I have the white/blue/silver ones
Were the Wink's actually comfortable? I was told they were THE worst shoe made. I did consider buying them myself but I felt the heal of the shoe. Very solid, i could imagine the pain landing everytime i left the ground.
I have the black ones. I paid 97.00 including tax. I was thinking of getting them when the price dropped like I did to his other shoes, but I just got them right away. When I wear them to play the fell comfortable on my feet. They are way better than the Wink DMX. Has anyone seen the commercial? I saw it on Mtv.
go to www.kicksology.net they have all the reviews of every recent shoe put out. However the x-beams have not been posted yet.
Wink DMX's are comfortable for 20-30 mins of balling, but after that they're hell. Not recommended for someone who plays for long periods. People mistaked my grimace for intensity. Your feet burn.
I haven't balled in these shoes yet, I will let you know Tuesday night. They look sweet to me and they feel badass. Light and snug. My favorite pair of shoes that I have ever owned by far.
I bought the red xbeams online (from an individual) for $60.00. They're alright, but I'm ballin most of the time in my Nike Air Max Tempo (or sumptin like that). They're cheap, they're good, they're what I use. During all that rain we just had, I played pickup thru that in my Nike's. My boys taunt me while they're in their Shox and AI's and stuff, but honestly, threads > kicks in my book. That's what I'm spending my $$ on.
Yeah, and on this site they review the Wink DMX, Stevie's previous shoe, a.k.a. the cause of his plantar fasciitis. I sure hope the X-beams aren't totally crap like the Wink's were...
Any1 actually check out the Rbk site?? Its awesome...it even lets you download the MP3 that Scarface did for Steve... pretty impressive
Quote from Kicksology : Let me say they are right on the money. I have a huge blister under my big toe and those things were on tight. They feel comfortable and look sharp but the first time I wore them they blistered my toe and they broke. If you look on this picture - the shoe on top, the left side close to the top of the shoe before the horizontal groove you see a silver piece of plastic. Well it is not a whole piece of the sole, it is just glued on and the damn thing broke off last night when I was playing basketball. I just couldn't believe they broke the first time I wore them. I am going to take them back. I might get something else or give them another try...
They just looked so sweet and were the Franchise's shoes. I will check out And1 and Nike this weekend. My other Reeboks were great though...
WTF?!?!? You know, this really pi$$es me of, that our Franchise player wears crap like this, and risks injuring his feet/legs yet again. Does anyone else think this is bullshiiet? I mean c'mon for Christ's sake, he's a millionaire, with access to some of the best sports trainers in the world, yet he can't find a decent pair of shoes? The trainers (this means you Keith Jones) have no say in what he wears? Can't they have a talk with him? First the Wink DMX's (read: plantar fasciitis), and now these pieces of dog shhh? What's the over-under on how many games he'll miss next year with these cheap ass shoes? I'm betting on the over... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
Ever since Steve's first shoes "Wink DMX" came out, I was worried about him wearing them. I have big, wide feet so they shouldn't be the greatest shoes for me, but when I tried a pair on, I couldn't walk. Caused lots of pain, and I couldn't walk back to my original shoes! One of the problems with the original is that they had no toe flex. Kicksology chronicled the problem very well -- a hard point from the lacing system pokes right down into the toe when it is flexed, and essentially there was no toe flex at all when I tried them on. Thus, immediately when his foot problems arose, I felt it had to be the shoes. It appears to me that the new shoe is a bit better, but still not that great. It also seems to me that Reebok is creating a shoe that's price/performance/materials/quality on par with 30 and 40 dollar shoes while slapping "Franchise" on it and charging $90 for it. Same thing with last year's shoe. I wish they'd do like Adidas with the T-Mac, and create a shoe that is GREAT on all accounts for $90. I suppose I'm being too harsh, but it just seems to me that Reebok is just trying to get by with the CHEAPEST product possible while trying to make it look like a bargain $90 shoe, when it's really not worth even near that. I'm very disappointed because I wanted this shoe to kick ass.
You aren't even close to being remotely too harsh. In fact, we should all be outraged at this. We give the Rockets the gift of a new arena, yet they aren't responsible enough to make sure that the players are wearing acceptable shoes night in and night out? Or maybe they don't have the balls to hurt Stevie's ego and fill him in on the bad news that his shoes really really stink? I see Steve missing more games next year with foot problems if no action is taken on this. Totally pathetic.
