I made a new start when I took my college coaching job in Phoenix, but I only agreed to the move after my publishing company provided me with a grant to work from home. Anyway, I can't speak to living in Dallas, but I respect you for embarking on a new journey. I don't know what Dallas is like, but I figure any city is what you make it. I'm wishing you the best of luck and I hope that you find whatever it is that you're looking for. Keep it pushin,' brotha! You'll be fine.
A lot of support in here, I really appreciate it guys! I figured it'd be more sarcasm and Dallas bashing. I got into my apartment already and moved a lot of stuff, back in Houston for a few days for training and to move the last bit of stuff I can fit, but then it's salams from there. Still feels unreal.
Breh, you had me with your username! ... (DFWRocket) It's all koolio!!! Glad you're settling in nicely! Pic's of you wearing Rocket Red all over DFW OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!! ....... ....... .......

Congrats on the new job! Not to hijack your thread or anything but I will also be relocating to Dallas in summer time. Will definitely need some advice as well!
What part? If you're working in Irving/Las Colinas, I'd say live West of HWY 360. On the Tarrant County/Fort Worth Side. You get more for your money and the people are friendlier. Of course, this also depends on your demographics/family/age/ etc. My motto is the less I travel east of 360, the better quality of life I have. also, join the DFW Houston Rockets fans Facebook page linked in the first page of this thread. Welcome to the area.
Honestly I have no clue where to move to, will be doing some research in upcoming months. I'll be working from home and traveling to customer sites predominantly in DFW so I expect lots of driving. Gf is a nurse so maybe where ever she gets a job we'll try to live nearby there. We are late 20's and no kids yet so I guess less to think about.
I live in Flower Mound and love it, though houses are getting stupid expensive. My wife and I are hoping to upgrade to a new home in a couple of years and are hoping we haven't been priced out of the area.
Grapevine is fairly centrally located. 20min to Dallas and 20min to Ft. Worth Anywhere in the mid-cities is a good place if you have to drive in all directions a lot.
Best of luck LCAhmed, I've been up here since I graduated from college in 99 in the Addison Carrollton area......don't really head to Dallas proper much outside of events or eating Deep Ellum....
