For those posting links - it's a good idea to set them up in code rather than direct links. I don't know for sure how, but the Lucas police seem to be swooping and nailing open links pretty darn fast.

    ex.
    Code:
    http://s35.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3P9NRB9HN52FD0NWNX1PBX6SSI
(the above is the low quality version)

The trailer freaking rocks... but so did the trailers for the other two movies. Set phasers to "low expectations."

I watched the trailer and wasn't as impressed. Maybe its lost its luster for me, but, it felt kind of blah. I mean, great special effects and all, and cool, we get to see the birth of Vader.

I just think we've seen a lot better trailers before. The 2nd LOTR trailers is still one of the best I've seen (or was it the third?...you know, the one with the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack music).

It's funny. We all know how the movie turns out, we've known the basic end result since 1977 or whenever the first Star Wars premiered. But still, seeing Vader at the end, hearing the distinctive breathing noise, it got me all pumped up.

This has the potential to be such an excellent anti-hero movie. Good guys get their ass kicked, bad guys win. Republic becomes the empire. Jedis go from honored to hunted. It's pretty cool stuff. Knowing Lucas though, he'll find some way to screw it up.

Could one of you guys put the hi-res mov version of the trailer on Yousendit for me? I'm trying to get it off the net, but servers are down everywhere.

i didnt see anything special in the trailer either.
i guess the part i like the most is probably when mace windu and a few other jedis tried to take the chancellor away, and he jumped infront of them with a saber in hand.

you know, now i kind of wish lucas would make another trilogy about another star wars bad ass that we dont really know about, the chancellor/emperor. if any of you guys know about his story from whatever source, please share.

The part that gets me is when Ewan McGreggor is yelling to Anakin (almost cryingly)... "You were the chosen one!"

When I first heard that they got McGreggor to play Obi-Wan, I was shocked... mainly because he would be the first real actor portraying a SW role since Sir Alec Guiness (who ironically played the same guy).

But, his role was nonexistant in the first movie, he was nothing but one-liners and action shots in the second, and now we're upon the third movie.

If Lucas lets three entire movies pass without giving this guy at least one or two scenes to fully showcase his acting ability, he might as well have gotten some dude from the OC to play Obi-Wan.

(I guess Portman is a decent actress as well... but since she shares the majority of her dramatic scenes with the awful Hayden Christensen, we tend to overlook her).

A bunch of his backstory is revealed in Ep 3. In consideration of people that don't like seeing open spoilers, email me and I can fill you in on what little I'm aware of.

I remember those huge spoiler photos that were leaked to the web recently. And I keep thinking how Samuel Jackson didn't want to go out like a punk. And he doesn't. But he goes out in a way that will hopefully stir the anger of the audience, get us behind Mace's demise; these last two films have reduced great actors to fill-ins, and given us no character to care about.

Hell, in the first two movies, how much did we really care if Anakin went to the dark side? At least he'd be interesting.

I have to admit, though, what an awesome freakin' trailer!

Or AIM, the file transfers aren't THAT slow, but it'd take a bit.

Hey, I can't send an attachment like that, so you email me first through here providing your address or screen name, and I'll send the attachment to that.

EDIT: Doh! I don't have it set up. Okay, I'll send you my email first.
