Does anyone know if there's anything, even small things, that this model can't do that the old ones can?

For example, can it still play all the original XBOX titles that the existing model can? I expect as much, just want to be sure though...

The design isn't bad. With the side vent, there shouldn't be anymore over heating issues. It's nice that wifi is finally included.

    It's $299, 250gb hdd and wifi n.

Size doesn't matter. It's how you use it.

Never did like the X-Box design. The Kinect look kinda cool.

Got one of these today. Gamestop is giving extra credit for the old 360 and accessories, so I traded all that in and a few extra games I had around.

Ended up paying 15 bucks.

Anyway, design looks a lot better in person that you might expect. It's not considerably 'slimmer' than the old 360, but it definitely feels more streamlined and compact. It's shorter, thinner.

    250 GB hard drive included
    Wifi N included
    black wired headset included
MUCH quieter than the old 360. About on par with my PS3 as far as I can tell

ON the downside, it still has a power brick (but it's a lot smaller than the monster old one) and only comes with a component cable

    FYI:
The transfer cable that's been around for a while WILL work to transfer your hard drive from an old 360 to this new one.

I never got the slim PS3, but now that the 360S is glossy, it and my fat PS3 match nicely in the entertainment center. lol

did GameStop let you keep your hard drive to transfer? I would guess the let u transfer it at home, or u did it in the store?

I seriously considering to upgrade, its looks flipping sweet, I may buy a new one, sell my old one after transfering my HD, I even have a 120GB I bought recently.

How much did Gamestop end up giving you and what/how many games did u trade in?

EDIT: found this on Gamestop's website

    http://www.gamestop.com/gs/specialty/tradeins/

    Upgrade to a new Xbox 360 250GB

Upgrade to a new Xbox 360 250GB and receive the trade in values below:

    XB360 System w/wireless OR wired controller - $100
    XB360 Hard Drive 20 GB - $30
    XB360 Hard Drive 60 GB - $35
    XB360 Hard Drive 120 GB - $40
    XB360 Hard Drive 250 GB - $50
    XB360 Memory Card 64 MB - $10
    XB360 Memory Card 256 MB - $14
    XB360 Memory Card 512 MB - $18
    XB360 Network Adapter Wireless (Microsoft) - $40
    XB360 Network N Adapter (Disc required) - $50
    XB360 Controller – Wired (Microsoft) - $20
    XB360 Controller – Wireless (Microsoft) - $25

hmm, so I have a 360 with controller, 20GB and 120GB, Network adapter

so that adds up to $210, so around $100 to upgrade? not bad, but probably can get more selling it on my own

    Yeah. I did:

    XBOX system
    Extra Wireless Controller
    Wireless Adapter
20GB Hard Drive (From an even older system)
    60GB Hard Drive
    Headset
    Controller Battery

I have their discount card thing, so along with the extra credit I got like another 10 %. And then I had about 50 bucks from some games I traded in.

As far as the transfer, I know the guys in the store I go to pretty well so they actually did the transfer in store for me.

Is the new one more energy efficient? I need to look into trading in my elite for one since it will be my primary source for playing games now. I have a PS3, but it's up for sale

It still doesn't have a Blu Ray player? What a bunch of jackasses over at Microsoft for not including one. Thanks for finally including built-in wifi...but too little too late. Am I supposed to go buy another 360 now? Well...that's not happening unless they allow me to trade in my existing one and get a deal with the new one.

I think they're not over the fact that their group lost to Sony. Blu-Ray on xbox would be awesome.. if they release a USB one.. it better not cost more than $50.
