Six opponents will play us as their second game of a back-to-back when the Rockets are also playing their second game.

11/14 vs LAL -- LAL plays at SA 11/13
11/24 vs Den -- Den plays home against Min 11/23
    11/29 @ GSW -- GSW plays at Sac 11/28
12/29 vs Tor -- Tor plays at SA 12/28
1/5 vs NYK -- NYK plays at SA 1/4
    1/9 @ NYK -- NYK plays at Chi 1/8

All other Rockets second games of back-to-backs the opponent will have at least one rest day.

You can go to hell! The Rockets are going to roll like the mighty Mississippi next year! We will be staring down the NBA like Clubber Lang from day 1!

The Rockets never play at home on consecutive nights. That's something I've watched closely over the last 15 years or so. One exception was during the strike year, but that doesn't count since everything was out of whack that year.

I know the Bulls usually have games at home on consecutive nights. There are probably some other teams as well.

In fact, I just looked it up and the following teams have one instance where they play at home on consecutive nights:

NJN, NYK, Chi, Ind, Orl, Mia, LAC, Por, and Min.

Sac has three instances where they play at home on consecutive nights.

I don't think it has any effect on anything.

I think it would be better not to play back-to-back at home. That way the Rockets could practice between games and be more prepared for the next game.

You don't get it. The LA game is a home game for LA, if they move the time of the LA game, people with tickets to the game would have to be there by 5 pm on a Thursday.

The PORTLAND game is an away game for PORTLAND, and a home game for HOUSTON, so it starts at a resonable time for people in HOUSTON to go to the game.

We were looking at two different schedules. The one I was looking at was screwed up. I'm not going to say I'm sorry, but I think we should just drop it. [IMG]

Man I can't wait for Nov 3.... imagine how the opener was last yr, and now with everything we have added and Francis back and new coach, championship expectations.....it is going to be great, esp. vs. Oden and the loaded young Blazers.

Sucks that Utah only comes once and we have to wait to the end of January to crush them.

Also sucks that a team with 2 of the biggest superstars in the game and a supporting cast to go with it, and a coach with exciting basketball, a team that will be one of the top 2 or 3 in the NBA, only has 1 game on ABC, pitiful. We are lightyears ahead of Miami or Cleveland or LA Lakers, it is not even funny. No respect..... even now the Celtics deserve more run than those tired teams.

the nba is a business there is two ways you can get on nat tv, be a very successful and entertaining team or be in a large market. unfortunately houston is not in a large enough market and hasnt achieved any tangible success in over 10 years. While we have two of the most marketable players in the league the NBA/media tends to focus on the new generation of players.

I can almost say if this team starts playing well and scoring like the adeleman teams of the past the other networks probably will pick up some of the rocket games to show. Or if the team advances far in the playoffs, figure the same as well for next season.

the only reason why i personally want more national game is because of the HD broadcasts.

We won 1 game vs. the Lakers in 03-04 after missing the playoffs for 5 yrs, and aquired T-Mac, and then were on all of the time on ABC. Even JVG's first yr, we were on Christmas Day and we hadn't been to the playoffs in 5 yrs and we didn't have McGrady.

Now we go to the playoffs, have the best series of the playoffs in 04-05, get screwed by the media, then this yr we go out and make ourselves one of the top 2 or 3 most talented teams in the NBA and get screwed again.
