Interesting stuff. Its great to see how much Houston has changed and I think its a lot better city since I last lived there in the late 80's. I remember then Downtown was a place you didn't want to be after dark.
That thing they are making in the town and country area looks like what they built as a "downtown" in Sugarland.
Don't forget the rumored 80 story office tower (likely would be Houston's new tallest) that could be built by Deyaar Development (group out of Dubai). This would be at Richmond and Post Oak. Rumored to be putting a 50 story condo tower next to it
There is nothing like a vibrant downtown in a big city -- i'm happy to see Houston moving forward with all this new citizen friendly development.
i am too, but the only thing i'm worried about is how they're quickly pricing the majority of houstonians out of these projects. it takes away from the affordability label.
It's open now. Have any of you folks been there yet? It's pretty freaking sweet. I saw the Forever XXI store. That place is freaking HUGE. It's pretty nice. I didn't go in. I won't go in until I have the female with me. The Books-a-million store is open, I think. BCBG is opening Friday. I am going to hang out there to find me a sugar mama. I can't wait for people to throw rocks or batteries onto San Jacinto street and Fannin Street.
Yup. It's funny when I meet someone from there that is actually cool. I find out they are from Dallas and I think, "Oh...."
Denver at least has the snow-capped Rockies as a background. Houston's skyline only looks nice from certain angles. From certain angles, looks like there are alot of gaps between the buildings.
Walked through the pavillions yesterday. Nice place, still doing some construction. Ate at house of blues - was pretty good.
If that's the standard you might as well say Salt Lake City and Anchorage has a great skyline. I think Houston's skyline is behind NYC, Chicago, SF, LA and Boston but I would certainly put it ahead of Denver.
