It sure looks like a big downgrade to me. Landry is better than Pops in the paint with a 66.5 FG% vs Pops 40.7 FG%. It's so in favor of Landry, that even Landry's offense 18 ft jumper(42.9-57.9% with the exception of the right elbow) is more reliable than Pop's shots(40.7%) at point blank range.

How bad would Pops have to be to become a big downgrade? There is a 26.5% difference in FG% at the basket. That's huge.

I'm pretty sure its a non-guaranteed contract. Morey has said that he'll need to make the team in training camp. But he also said that he feels Pops has the inside track to making the team.

Feigen has suggested that it will likely be between Dorsey and Pops who gets that last roster spot. If the Rockets can trade Barry, let go of James White, and maybe find a taker for Brian Cook, then perhaps we'll have room for both.

There will be 17 players with the possible addition of Pops. If White is cut,and Barry traded for a pick or cash considerations,it will leave us with 15 guys. In that case both Dorsey and Pops can stay, without having to move Cook.
