How would anyone know what you said then? That was the time period before I had to read 3 posts by you on every page of every thread.

Yeah the Lakers and Mark Cuban are such great examples to magnify the Rockets shortcomings in your eyes.

One of them is a team that has the 2nd most titles in the NBA and which the powers that be want them to be always successful because they are the Lakers, almost like the Yankees of baseball. The other one is a billionaire who won't blink an eye to go over the luxury tax because he is, yep a billionaire. Les Alexander and Daryl Morey better get their collective butts in gear or the Lakers and Cuban will just keep doing...*gasp*...what they have always been doing.

Be glad you didn't grow up a Clippers fan.

And Amir Johnson is 6'9. That extra inch over 6'8 makes all the difference in the world, doesn't it?

    AB-Landry-Tracy

    for

    Jason Richardson and Amare...

    Kyle Lowry
    Trevor Ariza
    Shane Battier
    Amare Stoudamire
    Yao Ming
    -----------------------
    Jason Richardson
    Luis Scola

I wonder if they would make us include AB?
Cap relief and Landry might be enough...

The Suns want cap relief, but as we have seen they want talent too. The talks with GSW broke down because they wanted 4 players.
Biedrins,Wright to replace their front court, Curry as a possible future replacement for Nash, and Belinelli. I doubt if Houston has a chance with them.

    Interesting. I googled it.

Amir was only an 18 yr old teen when he was drafted.

He grew 2 inches, when they measured him in 2006.

In terms of their actual height (ie what they measured at combine) we just 'collected' the following:

    Anderson 7'0
    Pops 6'9

    To add to

    Landry 6'9
    Scola 6'10 (international measurements list him between 207 and 210cm - 6'10 is 208)
    Cook 6'10

    Just a technical point.....

Unlike baseball, everyone in hoops play with the same money. If you think the league goes into a special lab and come out with a formula to make the Lakers a successful franchise, that's your bad.

Did anyone in the league offices tell La to trade Norm Nixon for Byron Scott? What about signing the ballhog bob mcadoo? How about drafting a 17 yr old kid while trading divac? How about trading thee best big in the game for good young players? I could go on and on, but you will still see a conspiracy, but I see shrewd management decisions.

Regarding Pops, I like him and said so last year, I'm just trying to see the need for a clone of what we have 3 times over. Maybe its a grand plan, I guess we will see.

What my greatest hope here is that Morey is stockpiling talent for the purposes of future moves. It could be much easier to actually move a Landry and Brooks or Battier if you had their replacements. AKA Ariza and Pops. Then slide in that good player we get back also into the lineup with these guys. I wouldnt mind moving a guy or two know in a deal with adequate backups that we have for every position. I am hoping eventually he consolidates all of this sold talent into a couple of good to great players.

He is stockpiling alright. Remember that article that said he had a list of about 5 players that he thought were undervalued? I can't wait to see what happens next...

I wonder why we did not just grab Amir Johnson, he was there for nothing...

If there is a deal in the works I doubt its for Scola....he's like the only guy on the whole roster who can play effectively with his back to the basket while in the paint. Just my 2 cents.

I have no idea what the Rockets are offering Pops, but my guess is its non-guaranteed and bare minimum. And assuming we're not trading one of our other PFs and he's not cut in training camp, I'd also guess that he'll be at the end of the rotation or with the Vipers most of the season.

I think the Rockets just want to have a closer look at Pops and see what he's capable of in their system. No big expectations at all. With Petro, they have plenty of tape and information to go off of (over 230 more games and 4000 more minutes played in the NBA), and they've probably already decided with some confidence he's not worth the investment.

Yes, it's called league scheduling. The Lakers were at home for a significant stretch at the beginning of the season last year, ensuring a fast start to the season.

Regarding Kobe, yes I can see conspiracy behind that. There were many teams looking to get him and the Lakers get him for Divac. Just like the Gasol deal, which was lopsided also. Regarding the rest, Jerry West has proven to be the best GM in the 80's and Mitch Kupchak has made some great moves also (some suspiciously too great). But it's sill the Lakers we are talking about. Free agents and big stars are looking to come there because of the big stage it comes with. Comparing our moves to theirs and using it magnify our shortcomings is like comparing your S/O to a supermodel and then start nitpicking your S/O of her deficiencies.

I'm curious myself about Pops, we will see. But quibbling over an inch in height is ridiculous IMO. You could at least list their standing reach, wing span, or vertical jump.

Yep, the big stage...Remember that the only reason why L.A was able to get Kobe because Kobe refused to go to Charlotte....or any other team except for the Lakers and 1 more team I believe. It might have been Chicago...@ the time that deal wasn't really for nothing because Divac was a really good center...and Kobe was a 17 year old gamble....low risk, high reward gamble. I personally don't like the fact that you're 17, made it to the N.B.A...and have the nerve to say that you're only going to play for a certain team. But it's worked out for him of course

I just was reading Jon's blog @ the chron, and he was saying that Pops plays very similar to how the Rockets were hoping Dorsey could play. This was close to the bottom of the page if anyone is intrested in the exact words he used.
