Getting Pops would allow us to move Landry for Marcus Camby...:) or anything for that matter...

they show his potential. hes had almost no playing time. i think he could be a landry caliber player for a fraction of the price, then maybe we send landry, barry, cook and another player to the bobcats for chandler. i kno the bobcats want capspace and landry, and we wouldnt mind chandler...

Possible. but He is still under size and the problem trading Landry would really affect the bench production of the team. Getting Camby would be great but it would open another problem that has to be solved.

He is just as young, big and athletic as Landry.

Landry for Pops would not be a big downgrade if at all imo...

But can Pops step out and hit a 15 foot jumper? If no then it is def a downgrade

He's the same height as Landry, but with longer arms.

However he can't shoot from outside of 2' - and even then he struggles (check out his 35% from the field with the Raps on 5 shots per game - OR his 37% in Euroleague last year on 14 shots per game). But at least he's good at regathering his miss and heaving it back up again...

I can't see how this guy is anywhere near as good as Landry in terms of basketball ability. Landry has played major minutes on 2 50+ win teams and been in the playoffs twice and even seen the second round.

Pops would be on a par with Brian Cook in terms of value - Pops for his athleticism around the ring, Cook with his ability to stretch out the defence.

    Dorsey is better than Pops.

You guys are absolutely right, I underrate Landry sometimes. At the same time, If it enabled us to get a shotblocker, Pops would be a solid, young replacement.

Pops is a DOMINANT rebounder. 5 boards in 13 minutes a game is amazing...

    Hmmm, Felton?

I don't know that I would trade Lowry or Landry straight up for him...

Ok - put down the stats book - or perhaps open it up??

Pops got 5 rebounds per contest in 1 season - it just so happens that 2.8 of those were offensive; combined with his 35% from the field I THINK we're starting to get a picture of what's going on here?

    Mensah-Bonsu offensive rebound
Mensah-Bonsu misses layup shot (blocked Nate Robinson)
    Mensah-Bonsu offensive rebound
Mensah-Bonsu misses dunk shot (blocked Wilson Chandler)
    Mensah-Bonsu offensive rebound
    Mensah-Bonsu made dunk shot

There actually IS a reason that he didn't get more minutes with the Raptors and their thin frontcourt.

In terms of being a shot-blocker, Mensah-Bonsu is nothing to write home about. He's never averaged over 2 per game at any level....

His rebounding would be great for the team but it will be Landry's offense that would be missed if He gets traded. Landry is a decent rebounder but his energy in the offensive side of things is what is important. He developed that mid range jumper which is a plus. An arsenal that can open things up for guys like Brooks and Ariza to drive in or for Scola to have room to create his shots inside the paint.

We already have Landry and Scola. We need either a legitimate NBA center, or a crazy scorer off the bench.

He'd be a good pick up, I've seen his D-league play... I think he got an award.. maybe D-league MVP or something... he's solid player and will give us that shot blocking ability. I didn't watch him while he was playing for Toronto.

Why not. I think he's better than Hayes. Wouldn't give up Landry for him though.
