To my knowledge there has not been a direct quote on that from Tmac or his agent. The media says that that is here he wants to go. But that's all we have.

Why would he agree to void the opt-out with a team he doesn't want to play for? I'm personally more scared of Dallas than anything else. I can see T-Mac being open to going there with Shaq and I can see Cuban offering whatever it takes to do it. I think that's the biggest threat to his Houston love and might be what's holding up him exerting pressure to come here. I don't see anything that'd make him happy about going to Phoenix. They don't really scare me at all.

Also, if Dallas is a threat and we're gonna get left in the cold, is there some way for us to use the guys we've dangled to get in on some of Dallas's good pieces? Seems like they'd have to give away everything to come up with TM and Shaq. Think our guys would be happy back with Rudy in LA? I don't do RealGM, but is there any way to move our guys maybe plus Howard there for Shaq and move Shaq to Dallas for Nash, Nowitski and pieces? Then maybe Dallas could use what they had left (Finley, Walker, Jamison, etc.) to get McGrady?

Not that we'd want Dallas to land those guys, and not that it's likely, but if it was going down it seems like we'd want to be in on it.

Where was it said that Tracy didn't want to go to Phoenix? To my recollection the Suns were on his short list of teams he would play for along with Indiana, Dallas, and Houston.

It would be almost impossible for Dallas to make both deals. Any deal for Shaq would decimate any of Dallas' trade fodder. Nobody wants anything to do with Antwan Jamison's ridiculous contract. Orlando doesn't want a 34-yr. old Michael Finley, or a loser like Walker.

I just don't see TM choosing a team with nobody but Amare (after everyone's gone to ORL) over a team with Yao plus tons of maneuverability (TE, MLE).

Agreed. This board will be in limbo for another week or so, until the deal is finalized.

Doesnt matter if the Phoenix fans (& papers) are correct. They have several deals in place to trade the pick down, if they do not use it for a possible McGrady trade.

I dont think the Mavs have the resources (of quality) that will allow them to secure Shaq AND T-Mac.

The Suns have Stoudamire and cap room. That is all they will have if they give up Marion, JJ and #7.

Also, Dallas' chances of getting Shaq and McGrady are about none. The deal for O'Neal will cost them Nowitzki one of either A. Walker or A. Jamison and either Marquis Daniels or J. Howard. Not much left to deal for McGrady after they aquire O'Neal, which I believe they will. It's a great thought, but it's just not realistically going to happen.

I've mentioned this before, and I'll say it again; if Phoenix wants to seal the deal, all they need to do is throw in Joe Johnson.

    From Phonenix boards:

Kind of weird. I have no way of knowing but I'm starting to wonder if Phoenix has taking itself out of the T-Mac Sweepstakes. About an hour ago I posted what I had heard on Phoenix radio (1310am) about an hour before (so 2 hours ago) that Phoenix had sweetened the deal and say take it, or leave it right here, right now.

Oddly, an hour later Weisbord says nothing will be done until after the draft (which means a new team, Houston, or Indy.....none included draft picks).

Now, Phoenix radio is currently saying that the Suns are believed to be trying to swap picks with either Chicago, but Howard Eisley is a snag........and are also resuming talks with Indiana about swapping first rounders again (something they were rumored to have been doing prior to the T-Mac package).

Being that the Suns would more than likely have to add the #7 in a package for T-Mac, and they are now believed to be swapping with other teams that very pick...........Not too mention that Weis just said nothing would happen to after the draft and sources out of Phoenix claim Orlando was given a now, or never offer.

I think Phoenix is out of the equation.

Only two teams not including draft picks were HOuston and INdy.......someone now mentioned the Mavericks

    either way..........good luck!!!

Makes sense! The fact that Phoenix and Indy are looking to move around in the draft kind of makes them need to get the McGrady deal done NOW and not after the draft. Advantage Houston.

I think we will know by draft time. If they make a serious run at Kobe, they are wanting to dump that #7 with a bad contact.

Unless PHO is trying to move up in the draft, say Chicago's #3, and package it with Marion and filler. Offering a #3 pick instead of the #7 pick would most likely seal the deal.

But would PHO be willing to trade up to the #3, which would take quite a bit, and still be willing to deal whatever they have left for T-Mac? Unlikely.

You are right, but I just heard on 610 that Phoenix will not include Joe Johnson. The most they will offer is Marion, the #7, and a scrub.

My gut is if Phoenix can move up to #3 they would use the pick themselves. And what would they have to give up just to get to #3? They would have to give up some asset (Joe Johnson?), an asset that might need to be used in the McGrady deal anyway.

That wont get it done. For Phoenix to be in the race in my opinion it has to be Marion/#7/Johnson.
