I love Oasis' first two albums, but all of the others have been kind of "meh" IMO. I hope this one is good. Plus, a new album means interviews with Liam and Noel, and those two are quite possibly the most entertaining interviews ever...
You need to give "Don't Believe the Truth" (the one that came out in 2004, IIRC) another spin. I believe that is their 3rd best album and an encouraging sign that they are on their way back of being a powerful band.
<br> I don't know about Be Here Now... <br> It was definitely a better album than all the bad rep that it got <br> If nothing at least "Don't Go Away" was a good song
really noel hated it? Be Here Now was great to me. I remember in an interview that Liam said that No Doubt's "Don't Speak" was inspiratiion to writing "Don't Go Away"
<br> Dude in all honesty they give some of the best interviews ever. Its really straight up and most of the time hilarious. Although, I can see how they can't be understood, BUT, to me, that just adds to the hilarity factor.
Man, you have to go and google some of their interviews. They are freaking hilarious! They talk $hit about everyone, including each other, and are not afraid to speak their mind. Probably some of the funniest stuff ever. Those guys are a mess
Another U.K band I like... <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="https://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="450" height="388" id="MaximPlayer"><param name="movie" value="http://www.blender.com/video/videoembed_external.swf" /><param name="quality" value="best" /><param name="wmode" value="window" /><param name="id" value="MaximPlayer" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashvars" value="videoUrl=rtmp%3A%2F%2Fstream%2Eblender%2Ecom%2Fondemand%2Fvideo%2F501%2D1000%2F614%5FThe%20Subways%5FOh%20Yeah%2Eflv&videoFileName=501%2D1000%2F614%5FThe%20Subways%5FOh%20Yeah&isVideoAutoPlaying=0&isVideoEmbedded=true&lightningCast=adfree%3Ageneral&maximPath=%2FThesubwaysohyeah%2Fvideo%2F655%2Easpx&pageName=video%3Asub%3AThe%20Subways%3A%20Oh%20Yeah&videoImageURL=f9c3f780%2D7bb4%2D4ac8%2Db82f%2Dff427de6cd19" /><embed src="http://www.blender.com/video/videoembed_external.swf" pluginspage="https://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" height="388" quality="best" wmode="window" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" name="MaximPlayer" flashvars="videoUrl=rtmp%3A%2F%2Fstream%2Eblender%2Ecom%2Fondemand%2Fvideo%2F501%2D1000%2F614%5FThe%20Subways%5FOh%20Yeah%2Eflv&videoFileName=501%2D1000%2F614%5FThe%20Subways%5FOh%20Yeah&isVideoAutoPlaying=0&isVideoEmbedded=true&lightningCast=adfree%3Ageneral&maximPath=%2FThesubwaysohyeah%2Fvideo%2F655%2Easpx&pageName=video%3Asub%3AThe%20Subways%3A%20Oh%20Yeah&videoImageURL=f9c3f780%2D7bb4%2D4ac8%2Db82f%2Dff427de6cd19" /></object><script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.maximonline.com/includes/js/getBrowser.js"></script>
yeah i remember him saying he was on too many drugs and just threw as many guitars on the songs as possible so he hates it now. most of the lyrics don't make any sense either but then oasis songs don't really make sense lyrically anyway... if you notice they don't touch be here now songs at all on any tour or any live show and even their greatest hits album leaves off anything from that record. personally i think d'you know what i mean and magic pie are as good as anything they've done, and stand by me, don't go away, all around the world, and it's getting better man are great tracks. it's all way way over-produced but i dig it. i also always thought it was funny that johnny depp plays guitar on "fade in-out"
you can listen to the entire album on their myspace site http://www.myspace.com/oasis I think it's tops, lads.
i downloaded the album about a week ago but i havent given in to temptation. i want to buy the cd and hear it all for the first time then, well other than the two songs i've listened to previously.
