Shaq has his own brand, which now is in a partnership with Li Ning, a Chinese company. Dwight Howard is with Adidas.

Umm...you guys are forgetting that with Adidas' acquisition of Reebok, Yao and Iverson are now on the adidas "All-Star" team.

Nike can't f***ing stop them, as Yao would say. :p

i dont know what the marketing folks at nike are doing. i dont really care for any of the "lebrons" commercial they are different but there are no where near the class of the commercials made for MJ. The one where everyone mimics his moves, the one where he recites the times when he has fails and the one where everyone stops frozen in time to watch him make a move are creative, innovative and will be around always. Another series i like recently with MJ was the one with spike lee telling the "gospel of mj" to the kids.

it seems like nike has had the marketing minds to make great commercials but have dropped the ball lately.

adidas has had some great commercials recently, the current it takes 5 is a good slogan but i am kinda getting bored of "you were fooled" (course that weird dance/look of gilbert in his commercial is priceless).
the god commercial making TD,KG and Tmac is great and the tmac dunk while trying to be stopped by a mini army are some of my favorite recent ones

So let's see, Addidas/Reebok team has Yao, Duncan, KG, TMac, Billup, Arenas, AI and D. Howard. They will destroy the Nike team on the court. :)

i think Nike would have a better chance sending out:

    1- Kobe
    2- DWade (Converse/Nike)
    3- LeBron
    4- Rasheed
    5- Amare

    vs.

    1- Chauncey
    2- AI
    3- TMac
    4- Duncan
    5- Yao

    or

    1- Damon Jones (Li Ning)
    2- Stephon Marbury (Starbury)
    3- Shane Battier (Peak)
    4- Chucky Hayes (Li Ning)
    5- Shaq (Dunkman/ Li Ning)
